SafetyPressure Alert Fitting• Each Closure is equipped with a Pressure Alert Fitting in accordance with ASME Section VIII Division 1 UG-35.• Designed to alert the Operator of internal pressure prior to the operation of the Clamping Mechanism.• The Fitting will pin the movement of the Clamping Mechanism. Only activation and removal of the Fitting will allow Closure operation.

OperationToggle Actuator• Allows simple and rapid movement of the Clamp Rings, minimizing operating time.• All operating features of the Closure are located to one side, opposite the hinge, allowing the Operator to be positioned away from the front of the door during the unlocking operation.

Clamp Ring Retainer (Patent Pending)• Works in conjunction with the Toggle Actuator and the Pressure Alert Fitting and provides another level of redundancy to lock the Clamp Rings in position while the Closure is in the closed position.• It serves as a backup locking mechanism in the event of a failure of the Toggle Actuator.• Operation of the Clamp Ring Retainer is only possible after the Pressure Alert Fitting has been activated and removed.• Key locking mechanism available as an option.

SealsElastomer Seals• Each Closure is equipped with an Elastomeric Seal in the Closure Door, which is protected from damage due to the passage of tools and pigs.• The seals sizes are industry standard and are not required to be special ordered.• The standard elastomer material: Highly Saturated Nitrile (other elastomers available upon request).

Size Range• NPS8 to NPS24, with larger sizes upon request.

Design Specifications• Head, Hub and Clamp Rings fully meet the requirements of ASME Section VIII Division 1.• ASME Code Certification Mark and Designator “U” can be applied and ASME U-2A Partial Data Reports furnished, as required.

Hinge Orientation• Primarily for horizontal pipeline applications. • Angles and vertical orientations are available.• Hinges are available for left or right swing.

Class Rating• ANSI 150 to 600

Terminations• Weld bevel per ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and CSA Z662.

TemperatureRange• -50°F (-45°C) to +400°F (+204°C) - limits of elastomer seal.

Material• Manufactured from ASME SA350 Grade LF2 Class 1 / ASTM A694 Grade F46 Dual Certified. • Conforms to NACE MR-01-75 /ISO 15156.
