Dr Simon Western designed this programmedrawing on his unusual depth of experience in threedomains:

Theory: Simon is an internationally publishedscholar in leadership and coaching, lecturing atleading business schools. He holds honorarypositions at Lancaster, Birkbeck and BirminghamUniversities. Previously, Director of Coaching atLancaster University management School, and hasled Masters in Organizational Consultancy(psychoanalytic approaches) at the Tavistock Clinic.

Practice: He draws on wide experience as anexecutive coach and OD consultant working onpersonal and team leadership, strategy and whole-system change, with CEO’s and C-suite leaders inbanking, retail, manufacturing, health, educationand not-for-profit sectors.

Previously a family psychotherapist, he brings anunusual breadth of experience, ranging fromworking with powerful executives at the top oforganizations to the most marginalised in society.

Training and Development:Simonis an international key note speaker on newleadership for the networked society, and coachingapproaches to achieve this. His themes are Eco-Leadership, Autonomist Leadership and howorganizations can learn from social movements. Heapplies this expertise to deliver bespoke coachingand development interventions for senior leadersacross organizations. He is a leading exponent ofexperiential and action-learning, designinginnovative programmes such aswww.lead2lead.com. Simon has worked with CEO’sand senior leaders in many organizations, includingLondon Business School, IMD Business School,HSBC bank, Caterpillar and the NHS.

Our five-frame system has been tried and tested withleaders across the globe. We use our A-N CoachingSystem to coach leaders directly in this trainingprogramme.

Outputs

Personal• Personal leadership analysis: The WILD

Questionnaire assesses individual leadership stylesand reports on individual styles, strengths, challengesand potential. Peer coaching then digs deep tosupport change whilst practicing leadership-coachingskills.

• Personal development: Developing self-awareness,leadership capability, writing a personal developmentplan utilizing peer-coaching.

• Developing leadership skills: Leaders need coachingskills to lead others i.e. influencing skills, relationshipskills, giving and receiving feedback. They also needto develop network and strategic mindsets to realizetheir leadership potential.

• Certificates of attendance are given to individualsfor CPD purposes.

Team• Team Development: Improving relationships,

working creatively together, managing conflict andtensions, building trust, exploring group dynamics.

• Team Leadership: Improving team-work andcollaboration skills. We train participants to bothfollow and lead, as active following is also an art andskill! The best teams distribute and changeleadership as contexts change. Leaders becomefollowers and followers leaders as required.

• Strategic planning for action: Participants planstrategies to achieve individual and team goals.

Organizational• Improved Organizational Performance: The course

delivers more effective teams, improved collaborativeworking, building leadership capacity and culturechange.

• Innovate and motivate: This programme raisesmorale, engages people and develops innovative andnetwork mindsets. Participants are motivated asthey discover their new potential to change things.

• Building New Networks: We support yourorganization to select the right mix of participants, sothat the organization can build new, lasting networksacross the company.

• Organizational Audit: Our task is not only to trainbut also to act as a learning hub for your organization.We gather hard and soft data from these courses, andwrite an organizational report for you, reporting onstrengths, challenges and themes that arise from ouradvanced data analysis.

TimeThis is a 3 day programme but can be delivered inmodules 1 day + 2 days, or 3 separate days.

Roll OutThe programme is designed to be scaleable , to be ableto build capacity across the whole organization bytraining large numbers. To achieve this we can leadthe training ourselves, or run an in-house train-the-trainers process and licence you to run the traininginternally .

CostsEach programme costs £20,000 and we work with upto 30 participants each cohort i.e. £660 per person.
