i. Acknowledgement
I would like to my thanks to HM Park, who is the Director of Events Sales Department in Grand
Hyatt Seoul. I want to thank him for giving me the opportunity to do my internship at the
organization. He had the kindness to accept me in the department and guide me through my
internship with advice, feedback.
I also would like to my thanks to Anna Park, who is the Director of Human Resource Department
in Grand Hyatt Seoul. I want to thank him for giving me the opportunity to do my internship at the
organization.
I am extremely thankful to Professor of Mae Fah Luang University Aj Sand, Aj Ekawee, Aj Bua,

I am also thankful to My Parents. My mother always have been prepare the meal for me even
early in the morning, always support me and warm care of me. My father always special care

Also I appreciated all the colleagues I worked with and spent nice moments with during my
internship.
I really enjoyed my time in Grand Hyatt Seoul. It is a great experience and I want to thank

ii. Preface
Currently I’m completing a Bachelor’s degree in School of Management in the Mae Fah Luang
University. I’m in my 4th year and therefore I have to conduct 4 months internship. The reason I
choose to do my university abroad is because I wanted to benefit from the experience. After
following 4 years studying in Thailand during my previous education, I wanted a new challenge.
I wanted to do my internship in Korea to experience the famous international hotel chain and to
learning, improve and develop new sets of skills. The reason I choose Grand Hyatt Seoul for my
internship is because I worked there for almost 4years since I 20 years old, and I have been
thinking the hotel as my future work place. One of my main goals is to get job there. This is why I
choose to follow my internship place; to learn and develop new sets of skills at Grand Hyatt
Seoul. The hotel has very long history that has very well fixed the organization’s culture and
working process. Regarding the learning experience I could have in a 5 stars hotel, my main
expectation was to be able to improve my communication skills with guest and other colleagues.
In this internship report I am focused on to explain my experiences by the various tasks what I
did during my internship period. The internship report includes an overview of the organization,
tasks and projects that I have done on during my internship period. I also will describe my
learning objects and personal goals that I have set during my internship period.

1. Introduction Choosing Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel for internship was guided by the desire to be exposed to get
job after finish the internship period. The reason I choose the hotel as my internship training is
because I wanted to benefit from the experience. Grand Hyatt Seoul is one of the oldest famous
hotels in Korea and I wanted a new challenge and to learn, improve and develop new sets of
skills. Working as Assist Events sales manager, performing duties and activities will help me get
achieve a goal in my future. I have been focused on during my internship about how to work
they are in real work place, up selling with guest and communication skills as a member of team.
The first part of the Internship report will be dedicated to explain in details the information of
organization and the various tasks I did during my internship.

3. Duties, Challenges and Learning Outcomes

Scope and General Purpose of Job is to assist in providing leadership in all selling activities
within the hot, working closely with the Food & Beverage and other revenue generating
departments to maximize sales through the activities of Marketing Division and other employees.
Some parts of Main Duties are Administration, Customer Service, Financial, Marketing,
Operational, and Personnel Duties.
Organization Mission Statement
We the Marketing, Sales and Events team believe in a shared culture that embraces a hunger
for new business with a passion to be customer oriented and professional in everything we do.
Our focus is to secure market leadership through good planning and a shared belief in our
colleagues and ourselves.
- Administration
I was in charged every morning for keep documents to maintain complete and supported
records of all Sales Agreements, Contracts and Quotations for the hotel.
I did update the Delphi Data (Events Reservation System) of the account information such as
Name of contacts, New Accounts and Form Documents file as well as the actual revenue
achievement of the month.
- Customer Service
I tried to understand exactly the requirement of clients so as to provide a logistical solution that
matches or beats customer expectation. I learned to liaise and work closely with the related
operation departments ensuring guests needs and expectation are being met.

- Financial
I provide a solution at a cost to exceed the guest’s budget.
- Marketing
I studied to be aware of community, business, political and social factors that may affect the
hotel’s financial performance.
- Operational
I learned to ensure professional sales calls. I did to prepare and ensure all Events orders are
distributed to concerned department in a timely manner.
- Personnel
I did to ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming. I learned to maintain
positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationship.
During I doing internship, I think the most important thing in work place is to carry out any other
reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

4. Conclusion I had a precious experience working at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel for four months in my senior
year. My internship began from orientation process, in which the Human Resources Department
introduced me about the Grand Hyatt Seoul.
My goals during working in Grand Hyatt Seoul were to learn formal corporate etiquette and learn
hotel operation. I have been able to significantly improve my personal working style. It’s a power
of a team work. Moreover, I also gained a lot of unexpected learning such as how to handle
complaining guests and how to work together with other collogues.
I had a lot of chance to learn work, I did not only copy, sending fax, delivering documents. I took
a picture of various kinds of amazing events and I see that events how organized as well. That
was the most exciting thing during I work at Grand Hyatt Seoul. Also I helped manager to
making layout and check-list. I could imagine by myself that how can make the event and
moreover I dreamed my future .Actually I enjoyed every work because I thought I will planning
an events like my manager as soon. I thought I will charge of this part.
This internship has really helped me to desire work there. However, I regret I could not act as
well as confidently. I need to change my mind and real acting. Lastly, I would recommend that
doing internship training at Grand Hyatt Seoul to my junior. Absolutely Grand Hyatt Seoul is the
best hotel in Korea and they will get a lot of skill and knowledge from other employee and hotel
working process.
The best part of working at Grand Hyatt Seoul was developing relationships with other
colleagues. They made my special birthday. They were friendly and helpful to me. They told me
about the hotel, even life working in the “real world”. It made me feel a part of the team.
In addition I had the opportunity to see special events for employee in hotel. I just hope to be
there in my future.
I gained valuable working experience and improved my English. I will keep in touch with a
number of my co-workers through phone and social networking.

5. Cartoon Project
This is one of the most interested project for me during I am doing internship. It shows the
process of the Events Sales process by Grand Hyatt Seoul’s objective.
I was in charge of the all parts such as drawing, searching information and arrange the process
and one of the manager shared me all the details and any better idea for that work. Now we can
see the picture on all desks of the team members. From the work I could learn more exactly
about the department and how we reach the goal. I learned the effect of the team work as well.
