In 2012, Bethany King and Sophie Stevenson saw a television programme about children and adults in other parts of the world who didn’t have spectacles (glasses). This meant that the children couldn’t learn and the adults couldn’t see well enough to work to
earn money for their families.Bethany and Sophie found out about a charity called
Vision Aid and organised a collection.
All types of spectacles are needed.
10% (670 million) of the world’s population are visually impaired because they cannot get the glasses they need.
13 million children around the world need glasses. Many of these children risk missing their education because they can’t see well enough to learn.
Families go hungry because adults cannot see well enough to work to earn money.
PLEASE HELP ME. I NEED GLASSES.PLEASE BRING YOUR UNWANTED
GLASSES INTO SCHOOL.THEY WILL BE FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
As you can see I got my glasses, and now I can see everything. Thank you for bringing them for me!
Over 200 pairs of spectacles were
collected and sent away to Vision Aid!
We want to beat that fantastic total!
With your help, we will!Thank you.
Your help will help children get their rights!
