OverviewGiven the critical nature of the retirement of IT assets, Insight has developed a best-in-class offering. Insight’s disposition services consist of a comprehensive end-to-end Remarketing, Redeployment, and Disposition program that maximizes the economic return on marketable equipment. Insight delivers a program that not only protects the client’s data security requirements through hard drive data erasure and/or destruction, when applicable, but also protects the environment through EPA Certified Disposition for those items that are not remarketable. There are additional ad hoc services that stem from the basic service offerings such as relocation, field service activities and on-site data security.

OfferingsNationwide LogisticsInsight offers nationwide logistics with low cost, dock-to-dock and/or inside pick-ups. The dedicated Insight Disposition Team will coordinate all aspects of the pick-up process. Rates can be calculated on a per pound rate or a per asset rate, dependant on the needs and requirements of each client. Insight’s established relationships with freight carriers will assist in minimizing freight costs for our customers.

Box ProgramReduce freight costs with Insight’s box program for small pick-ups (locations with assets resulting in three or less boxes). This program includes sending out the box, packing material, tape, and a prepaid label back to the processing center. Detailed tracking and reporting for assets is provided by Insight.

Asset ProcessingBelow is a description of the steps included in the Insight asset processing procedure: • Confirmation of receipt of shipment • Complete Physical and Technical Audit (provide a report of all serial numbers/asset tags in

shipment) • Wipe all hard drives (single pass or DOD) • Record and remove asset tags • Determine Equipment Path (Remarket, Redeploy, Disposition)

Online reporting CapabilitiesInsight provides a customized disposition website for each customer. The website will provide a central repository for all information regarding the asset disposition process, including serial number/asset tag numbers, shipment records, Certificates of Destruction, and Certificates of Erasure. All reports are easily downloadable to Excel. Customers may also utilize the online disposition request feature to order nationwide pick-ups, further streamlining the process.

data SecurityInsight will perform a US Department of Defense (DOD) hard drive wipe. The DOD (Department of Defense 5220.22M) hard drive wipe consists of three (3) iterations, considered to be seven (7) passes featuring multiple overwrites with random characters, rendering the data on the drive completely erased and unrecoverable. If a drive cannot be erased, it is destroyed. Certificates of Erasure are provided for all drives erased. Should a customer require, the serial numbers on the hard drives as well as the serial number of the asset for which the drive resides, can be captured.

remarketingInsight recognizes the need for speed to market. Equipment is processed and re-marketed immediately upon audit completion. Remarketed hardware is sold on a per unit basis to yield the highest revenue. Equipment is either repaired or sold “as is” based on highest rate of return. Insight re-markets and has access to global buyers. Once equipment is remarketed, Insight can issue a check to the customer, apply the proceeds to an open account, apply the proceeds to new hardware, or create a credit pool for the customer’s future use.

redeploymentInsight offers the ability to manage all redeployment activities, which can include: • All assets will be tested, cleaned, and boxed • Assets can be kitted with appropriate ship group items to ensure complete asset is

shipped to a new customer end-user • Assets will be tagged with the appropriate customer part number and then housed in

Insight’s privatized inventory • Assets will be centralized and the customer will have on-line viewing and order request

functionality • Assets can be image loaded prior to shipment to the customer end user • Assets will be shipped directly from Insight to the customer end user • All inventory management and warehousing will be provided by Insight

ePA ComplianceShould equipment not meet the standards for re-marketing, assets are disassembled and appropriately disposed in an EPA compliant manner. All dispositions take place within the United States. Insight is highly sensitive to environmental regulations which prohibit the improper disposition of computer equipment and is well educated on the latest EPA mandates. When you contract with Insight, you can be confident that all regulations are being met.

tape Library and data Center equipment deinstallation and removalInsight provides expertise in the deinstallation and removal of data center equipment, specializing in tape libraries. Service includes end-to-end solution including transportation to processing facility for either disposal or remarketing of equipment and tapes.
