Impounded Cars for Sale: Buy an Impounded Car and Save Money
Author: Joe Reilly
Car auctions with impounded cars for sale have been taking place for many years. They are
not well advertised, so unfortunately most people do not know about them. They also remain
in the dark about the kind of savings that can be made. There are many reasons why the
authorities will impound a vehicle, but usually it will be because the car owner has unpaid
taxes or has broken the law. These cars are not normally damaged or faulty in any way.
When all legal issues, concerning the reason for the vehicles and any other property seized
are fully resolved, the cars can be auctioned off. So what are the reasons for cars being sold
off at public auctions and how you get the benefit of the low prices available?
Well, there are two principle reasons why the repossessed cars are auctioned off. They are
as follows:
1) It costs a lot of money to store these vehicles. By sell them off by the quickest means
possible, the government saves these costs.
2) This is also the quickest way for the authorities to liquidate these assets so that they
can recover money owed to them in the form of fines or unpaid taxes.
As with all auctions, impounded cars are sold to the highest bidder on the day. This means
that you can make incredible savings when purchasing your car in this way. If you are
prepared for the auction and you know where to find the best auctions to attend, you could
secure the car you are looking for at the right price. With bids starting as low as $100, there
is no reason why you cannot get what you are looking for even if your budget is tight.
Members of the public are welcome to attend federal auto auctions, although many do not
know that they have that right. A lot of car dealerships depend on these auctions to buy low
cost stock. They then add an often large mark up and sell them on. If you buy a car at a car
lot, you could well be buying an impounded car, which has a much higher price tag than the
auction price.
The only thing you need to do is find out where the auctions are on, make sure you get a list
of the cars that will be available, make a shortlist of the ones you are interested and of
course, only bid what you can afford to spend.
Finding out where you can find impounded cars for sale is usually the most difficult part of
this process. There is no doubt that the greater the number of auctions that you know about,
the greater the likelihood that you will exactly what you are looking for at the best possible
price. I advise you to look at online services that can give you the inside track on these
auctions. You can be sure your local car dealer does not want you to know about them!
