COMPONENTS:
• capacity-building and training: strengthen capacities at the organization, protected area and student level in the phase of completion of the degree in works with plants
• Monitoring and follow-up : inventory the state of endangered flora in the islands of Fogo and Brava and create instruments that allow them to be followed during the implementation of the Project and in the medium term.
• Information, Education and awareness: to develop information, education and awareness actions to communities, students and civil society on the importance of conservation of endangered plants.
DELIVERABLE:• At least 10 people (technicians of the association Projeto Vitó, from
the Fogo Natural Park and students of the University of Cape Verde) are trained in the identification and monitoring of endangered flora
• Ecological Monitoring Plans of the Fogo Natural Park (For the part of endemic endangered vegetation) elaborated and implemented during the life of the project
• Production of inventory and distribution maps of threatened endemic plant species on the island of Fogo and Brava
• 10 hectares of areas important for the conservation of plants in the islands of Fogo and Brava are recovered with fixation of 10000 endemic plants
• Rehabilitation plan for the Fajanzinha area and 5 information panels on Cape Verde's endemic plants
• Students, community and civil society informed and sensitized about the need to protect endemic plants
