OASIS CatalogingIMPORTING MARC RECORDS

This guide will take you through the process of importing a file with MARC records using OASIS.

1. Go to Cataloging Tools. Click on Browse.

2. Path your way to the file you want to import. In the example below, we will

import microlif.002. After you select it, click on Open.

3. The file appears in the input box and you click on Upload.

4. The file microlif.002 will appear on the list of imported file. Click on Import.

5. The records will start processing.

6. You will see a list of records to be imported. Click on Next.

7. You have a chance to change some of the field mappings. In the example we do not change anything and Click on Next. Make sure you do have 852 field(s) because that is what is going to create the holding records, You should see at least the subfileds 852# h,i,p (call number, cutter, barcode) VERY IMPORTANT.. If you don’t see 852 , Please call Mandarin Technical Support

8. In our example we want to add the records to the General Collection.

Depending on the number of records you are importing and the speed of your server this process can take some time (as much as 1 second per record.)
