Important Updates to PTA Afterschool Dismissal

Dear Lower Lab PTA Afterschool Families, In order to ensure the safety and security of our students, we are required to update the afterschool dismissal procedure, effective 3/12.  Please read below carefully and reach out to us with any questions or concerns.  We truly appreciate your patience as we implement these necessary changes.

Effective 3/12/2018-Afterschool dismissal will occur at the main 3rd avenue doors, just like the dismissal from a regular day at Lower Lab.  Parents/caregivers will not be allowed into the building and are required to wait outside the doors.  The children will be brought down by the vendors and TAs at 4:00, 4:30 or 5:00.  Parents/caregivers must sign for the child at the door.  Adults are not allowed to sign in and pick up the children in the classroom.

Children must be picked up at their dismissal time. We cannot accommodate early dismissals. 

If there is an urgent situation and you need to pick up your child, you must call  646-591-9293 and a TA will bring your children down to the 3rd Avenue doors.  Please add this number to your phone now and share it with your caregivers.  Do not contact the main office and do not email. 

Call  646-591-9293.  If you are currently picking up your child off-site, there is no change to the dismissal procedure. Ice Skating will continue to be dismissed from the bus.  If your child is currently enrolled in Young Playwrights, Friday Robotics or Rock Climbing you will receive a separate email requiring you to select a 4pm or 5pm dismissal.

Parent volunteers are not allowed into the classrooms unless specifically requested by the vendor and approved by the Afterschool Team.  The security agents will have a list at the desk and only those on the list will be allowed in the classroom.  If you are currently volunteering in a classroom, please contact the vendor for continued access.
