IMPORTANT: Place this letter on your dashboard to waive the parking fee (valid ONLY for Sunday, May 4, 2014). Dear Parents: We are delighted that your child has chosen Carleton University (CU) for the Enrichment Mini-Courses Program (EMCP 2014).
On Sunday, May 4, 2014 you are welcome to join us at the EMCP Orientation Day. This is an opportunity to meet the instructors and get oriented with CU campus where your child will be attending the EMCP class for the week. A typical orientation session will last for about an hour. We anticipate close to 3000 people attending the orientation. To avoid big crowds, we have scheduled three orientation sessions, as follows;
Courses # 200-218 at 1pm,
Courses # 219-236 at 2pm,
Courses # 237-257 at 3pm. We request that you attend the designated time for your orientation.
If you are interested in a formal guided tour of the campus, please register online at: http://admissions.carleton.ca/enrichment-mini-courses-program-tours/. The tour would take about 45 minutes and this will be offered at 2 pm and at 3 pm.
We have enclosed the brochure (orange) outlining the program, along with the leaflet (Quick Guide to Carleton) that you can review in advance before the orientation. We will be meeting in the TORY QUAD area (please refer to the map on the back of the brochure). Please read these brochures carefully and make sure to note the time of your orientation session and the alternative location in case of inclement weather.
You may be interested to know that this year, four $1,000 scholarships are presented to former EMCP students if they qualify. Each student who attends a mini-course at Carleton University is eligible to apply and COULD QUALIFY for a $1,000 scholarship upon admission to a first year undergraduate program at Carleton University.
