e are delighted that you have chosen Carleton University for an enrichment program this year. Throughout its thirty-three year history, the EMCP has given thousands of students a chance to experience learning in a post-secondary setting. As well, this unique event has given us the opportunity to showcase Carleton’s

academic programs and facilities.

Start the week at Carleton University by meeting your instructor and classmates! On Sunday May 4, 2014 at 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm sessions, we invite you to join us on campus for the Enrichment Mini-Courses Program (EMCP) Orientation day. Students and parents will meet outside the TORY QUAD area and will be escorted to their respective classroom for an orientation session. Please make note of your orientation time:

For courses 200 - 218, your orientation session is at 1pm. For courses 219 - 236, your orientation session is at 2pm. For courses 237 - 257, your orientation session is at 3pm. Please note; in case of inclement weather, we will meet in the UniCenter “Galleria.”

Discover Carleton’s learning environment! We are delighted to introduce you to our excellent academic programs offered in a friendly, informal atmosphere of the EMCP. We want you to feel at home and part of Carleton’s community.

During your week at Carleton, you will have a chance to explore

and enjoy the University and its beautiful surroundings. To make your EMCP week memorable, each student will receive a commemorative EMCP 2014 Carleton T-shirt. On Wednesday at noon, there will be activities held in the UniCentre Galleria. We’ll draw prizes that include Carleton collectibles and souvenirs. Finally, a certificate will be provided to all students who successfully completed the EMCP ‘14 week.

Scholarships are also presented annually to former EMCP

students. Each student who attends a mini-course at Carleton is ELIGIBLE to apply, and COULD qualify for one of the four $1,000 scholarship upon admission to the University in their first year of studies. For more information, please visit:

If you need regular allergy shots, you can store your serum at the clinic and the nurse will administer your injections. Please remember to bring your health card to every visit. Medical emergencies should be directed to the University Safety Department mobile unit at 613.520.4444.

Bookstore Main Floor, University Centre Hours: 8:30 am-4:30 pm The University Bookstore offers a wide range of books, clothing, stationary, and accessories. MacOdrum Library Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am-6:00 pm during the EMCP week. As a mini-course student, you have full access to the library. However, all materials must be used within the library. Study space is available throughout the five floors. UniCentre Store First Level, University Centre Hours: 9:00 am-7:00 pm You can purchase sundries, magazines, greeting cards and snacks from the UniCentre store. The campus Post Office is also available at this location.

EMCP Scholarship

Each student who attends a mini-course at Carleton becomes eligible to apply and COULD QUALIFY for a $1000.00 scholarship upon admission to the University in their first year of studies. The scholarship is presented

annually to five former mini-course students with the highest academic standing upon admission to the University. The scholarship presented annually was established in 1990 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Enrichment Mini-Courses program. In the upcoming 2014-15 academic year, the scholarship will be awarded to four candidates who have the highest scholastic standing of all the candidates who are eligible for the award.
