Ms. Dodson’s Classroom Newsletter Literacy: This week in Literacy we will be working on reading comprehension. We will be practicing using the RUNNERS strategy to answer questions that go along with a text.

Writing: In writing we are working on the Informational/Explanatory Writing Unit. We have picked the topic of Polar Bears, so we are going through the informational writing process and writing a research paper on Polar Bears as a class.

Having the multiplication facts memorized is going to help students in all math areas.

Science: This week we will be completing our Science Unit on Change in Matter. We have been looking into properties of solids, liquids, and gases. We have seen how the properties of these change when you apply heat or cold. We have completed experiments to help us see these changes and better understand how energy is transferred and the changes that undergo. We will take our Unit Test on Thursday.
