COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis course is designed to help therapists and teachersworking with students with sensory processing issuesthat affect classroom performance. The learner will havethe opportunity to gain general sensory knowledge andacquire the skills to implement sensory strategieswithin all classroom settings. These settings includeself-contained and inclusion classrooms for bothpreschool and elementary schools. Upon completion ofthis course, learners will have a multitude of ideas andstrategies to use with their students. Learners willacquire the skills necessary to educate classroom staffon the proper sensory strategies to ensure success forstudents with sensory dysfunction.

AUDIENCEOccupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists,Psychologists, Preschool and Elementary GeneralEducation and Special Education Teachers.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Diane Corson, OTR/L is an occupational therapistwith eighteen years of pediatric experience. Shereceived her Bachelor of Science degree in occupationaltherapy from Florida International University. She iscertified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment inpediatrics. Mrs. Corson has extensive experienceworking in a dynamic and diverse school system. Shealso provides therapy services to children and theirfamilies in home, day care, and private school settings.Mrs. Corson specializes in the treatment of childrenwith autism as well as other neurological disorders. Shehas lectured extensively in the areas of classroomsensory strategies, fine motor, visual motor andadaptive strategies. These courses have been offered toteachers, therapists, parents, and other professionals.

Abby Green, OTD R/L is an occupational therapistwith fifteen years of pediatric experience. She receivedher Bachelor of Science in occupational therapy fromthe University of New England. She graduated fromNova Southeastern University with her Master’s andDoctorate in occupational therapy. Dr. Green has beenworking in a large and dynamic school system fortwelve years. In addition, she provides services tochildren from birth to eighteen years of age in a privatepractice setting. Furthermore, she provides educationaltrainings in the areas of sensory integration, autism,and developmental delays to parents, teachers, speechpathologists, and other occupational therapists.
