In October, 40 former house guests and family memberswho lost loved ones in the past year returned to FamilyHouse for a memorial service and a luncheon. Volunteers, staff and guests who have known the families alsoappreciate this annual remembrance event.

Our annual Gingerbread House party in Decemberwas a festive event for guests, volunteers andchildren. Family House was beautifully decoratedfor the holidays, and the sugar-laden gingerbreadhouses added charm.

The 8th annual Carolina Ball in September 2014 had record attendance and raised over $200,000 in net proceeds. That's enough to fully cover the cost to operate nearly seven of our 40 rooms for an entire year! Hosts Lisa Carey,MD and Matt Ewend, MD shared powerful perspective on how people gain strength from a caring communitywhen coping with illness. Save the date for this year’s event: October 9, 2015.
