What is Kaltura?

Is Video Platform that will help solve the challenges of using video within the LMS (Blackboard) while opening a whole new set of engaging teaching possibilities. Allow faculty and students to use media as easily and intuitively as they would other content objects.

What can a faculty member do with Kalturain Blackboard?

1) Webcam Recordings – Assignments2) Upload nearly any form of video content3) Insert Youtube clips4) Use the My Media platform to manage all of their video content, easily accessible through Blackboard

I like Kaltura’s tool better than BB because it is simple and straightforward, and I like the fact that each of these videos are now in my own library. It brings online education to life.

• Would like to work with IMOs to get their users signed up to take the information security computer based training: “Securing the Human”. 

• Would like to work with IMOs to setup and begin having users scan their computers for PII using Identity Finder.  An instructional video is available & can be accessed by all users http://streamingmedia.pace.edu/IdentityFinderTraining.

• Reminder: All users should be vigilant against Phishing emails and never forward Pace emails to third party email accounts.    

• Reminder: All Windows domain computers and Windows VPN clients are required to use Network Level Authentication.

Started at Pace 28 years ago as an Admission Counselor

 

Goals:

• Have the reporting function to be intuitive

• Provide a means to visualize the data beyond spreadsheet tables

• Provide data and reports to the users at their desktops (once it is intuitive)

• Use the data not to just show history (what happened), but to use the data to help make decisions

• Ultimately analyze the data to use in a more predictive way to help guide University decisions, activities and interventions
