LECTURAS DE HOY Primera lectura — Moisés le habló a todo el pueblo dicien-do: “El Señor Dios hará surgir en medio de ustedes un profe-ta como yo” (Deuteronomio 18:15-20). Salmo — Ojalá escuchen hoy su voz; no endurezcan sus co-razones (Salmo 95 [94]). Segunda lectura — Hermanos y hermanas: Yo quisiera que ustedes vivieran sin preocupaciones (1 Corintios 7:32-35). Evangelio — Los oyentes quedaron asombrados de sus pala-bras, pues enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad (Marcos 1:21-28).

TODAY’S READINGS First Reading — Moses spoke to all the people, saying: “A prophet like me will the L , your God, raise up for you” (Deuteronomy 18:15-20). Psalm — If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts (Psalm 95). Second Reading — Brothers and sisters: I should like you to be free of anxieties (1 Corinthians 7:32-35). Gospel — The people were astonished at Jesus’ teaching; he taught them as one having authority (Mark 1:21-28).

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Jesus proclaimed the beginning of God’s reign by relieving people of the burden of evils. We pray for all who burdened with Covid-19 and other diseases and conditions that make it hard for them to be with others. Jesus freely and fearlessly touches everything that is human. Through Jesus’ touch the Good News of the Gospel is revealed in us and to us. It is a commitment of life to reach out to the outcast of our own time. We must be willing to touch those who need comfort and be present to those who are alone or isolated. When we are sick and in pain, when we experience alienation or loneliness and are overburdened with life’s everyday challeng-es, we need Jesus to touch us and heal us. We are to be this Jesus who touches and heals others.

Querido Hermanos & Hermanas,

Jesús proclamo el comienzo del reino de Dios aliviando a la gente de sus cargas del mal. Oramos por todos los que se encuentran agobiados por el Covid-19 y otras enfermedades, y condiciones que les dificultan estar con otros. Jesús libremente y sin miedo toca a todos los humanos. A través de la mano de Dios la buena nueva del evangelio es revelada en nosotros y a nosotros. Es un compromiso de vida dar la mano a los marginados de nuestro tiempo. Tocamos a los que necesitan ser confortados y estamos presente a los que están solos y aisla-dos. Cuando estamos enfermos y en dolor, cuando experimentamos aislamiento o soledad y estamos sobrecar-gados con los retos de la vida diaria, necesitamos que Jesús nos toque y nos alivie. En nuestro momento debe-mos ser este Jesús que toca y alivia a otros.

ASH WEDNESDAY/MIERCOLES DE CENIZA Wednesday, February 17th is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. We will have multiple opportunities for everyone to receive ashes. There will be Mass at: 7:00AM; 12:00PM; and 7:00PM. We will also have Service at 10AM and 5PM for any-one unable to attend one of the Mass times. Ashes will be dis-tributed at the end of each Mass and Service. ***Miércoles, el 17 de Febrero será Miércoles de Ceniza y el comienzo de cuaresma.
