New pews have been ordered and will be installed December 1st for our Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The Chapel will be closed from October 31st to December 2nd for installation of new pews and floor repairs. The old pews will be donated to a Parish in Mexico. Thank you.

SCHOOL NEWS Thank you for supporting the annual Immaculate Conception School BBQ this past Sunday! While our final fundraising numbers are not in, I will report those to the parish as soon as possible. Thank you for your support! A special thank you to the following staff, parishioners, and parents who went above and beyond to help with planning, organizing, and running the BBQ: Bobbi Firebush, Roy Mendoza, Joe and Marlie Meza, Armando Rodriguez, Maria Tirado Garcia, Martina Passino, Diane and Mike Argomaniz, Crystal Davis, Lenny DeLeon, Kimberly Grentz, and Gustavo Trujillo. You can help provide a quality Catholic education for deserving Immaculate Conception students and it won’t cost you a dime! How? Through CTSO, the Diocese’s Catholic Tuition Support Organization, you elect to divert your state taxes and designate where you would like your tax dollars to go, up to $2,134 filing jointly, $1,067.00 filing single. You’ll get all of the contribution back because the amount you give becomes a credit that will either increase your tax refund or decrease the amount you have to pay the state when you file your tax return. CTSO brochures are available at the back of the Church. These provide additional information and the form and envelope to make your contribution. We hope you will designate IC School and support our students! Thank you! There is a mandatory First Reconciliation meeting next Monday, October 24, for all parents of second graders who will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in December. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Room 2.

HAND CARVED IN BETHLEHEM

Ayman Khair represents about 180 Christian families from Bethlehem. These families have been dependent upon sales of their hand carved religious articles to tourists of the Holy Land. Due to the conflict in the Middle East, the tourism has been cut off. In order to survive, they have turned to Christian communities in the United States to purchase their articles. These hand carved religious articles are beyond description. Carved from wood of the sacred Olive tree, this workmanship has been traditional for these families for hundreds of years. It is hoped that through the efforts of Mr. Khair, these families will have a little income and be able to continue living in the Holy Land. Amazingly enough, The Christian population dropped from 22 % to less than 2% in the last 30 years. Thank you in advance for your support. 2nd Annual Immaculate Conception Trunk or Treat

Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 9378

We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Immaculate Conception Trunk or Treat event. This FREE event is a fun and safe alternative to traditional trick or treating. Rather than going ‘trick or treating’ door to door, kids get to go from car to car in a safe environment. We’ll have music, kid’s games, a fire truck, and police vehicles helping to hand out candy. This event will take place on Saturday, October 29, at the IC North Parking Lot. The parking lot will open for set up at 4:30 p.m. Trunk or treating starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded for best costumes of a saint or mentor and for the best decorated cars.

PARISH BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTION

The term of our current lay director, Aida Urbieta, expires in January 2017.

Fr. Manuel Fragoso has nominated Aida Urbieta for a second term in that position. In addition to Father’s nomination, registered members of the Parish may submit names for this position by obtaining a total of 10 registered members signatures and turning them in to the Parish office. Nomination forms are available at the Parish office. For more information about the position and the eligibility requirements, please contact the Parish office.

The Parish wide Election will be held the weekend of November 26 & 27, 2016 after all the Masses. Nominations will close on Friday, November 11, 2016 (Two weeks before the election). Only registered parishioners over 18 may nominate a candidate or vote. If you are not sure if you are registered in the Parish, please contact the Parish secretary to verify your record.
