IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

Dear Parish Family,

On Sunday, July 5, 2020, Fr Jonathan Moré will be installed as the pastor of Immaculate Conception in Sealy, Texas. This will take place at the 9:00 am mass and will be live-streamed. I have received per-mission from Auxiliary Bishop George Sheltz to conduct this installation. This will be my last official act as Vicar Forane (Dean) of the Bluebonnet Deanery.

As individuals each one of us have unique gifts and talents that we are to use in the building of the kingdom of God. Fr Jonathan brings a great enthusiasm and a deep love of tradition of our faith. He also brings the gifts of his educa-tion, some of which, took place in “The Eternal City” - Rome.

Effective July 1, 2020, Fr Jonathan Moré becomes the pastor of the parish. He will bear the title Administrator for the first year. He has been approved to serve the faith community by Cardinal DiNardo. I am sure that you will give him a warm welcome and help him get settled into this fine parish. Effective June 30, 2020, I am retired. You can refer to the Cardinal’s letter placed in last week’s bulletin. Paragraph 4 of that letter outlines my role in the Archdiocese as a retired priest.

I will continue living in Sealy and will be helping in different parishes as the needs arise. I am also looking forward to spend some time in the mountains of New Mexico in the Diocese of Las Cruces and offer some help to Fr Alex Urena. I found the mountain air to be beneficial when I stayed with Bishop Oscar Cantu in Las Cruces and Fr Alex in Tula-rosa several years ago after I had been ill.

I will fill in at Immaculate Conception from time to time. Right now I am scheduled to fill in for Fr Jonathan on Labor Day weekend.

Please pray for me, as I will for you. Pray for your pastor, Fr Jonathan, and all the priests as they take on their new assignments on July 1, 2020 in a world that has had some big changes and will present certain challenges to all those in ministry.

El domingo 5 de julio de 2020, el P. Jonathan Moré se instalará como pastor de la Inmaculada Concepción en Sealy, Texas. Esto tendrá lugar en la misa de las 9:00 am y se transmitirá en vivo. He recibido permiso del Obispo auxiliar George Sheltz para realizar esta instalación. Este será mi último acto oficial como Vicario Forane (Decano) del Deca-nato Bluebonnet.

Como individuos, cada uno de nosotros tiene dones y talentos únicos que debemos usar en la construcción del reino de Dios. El P. Jonathan trae un gran entusiasmo y un profundo amor por la tradición de nuestra fe. También trae los regalos de su educación, algunos de los cuales tuvieron lugar en "La Ciudad Eterna" - Roma.

A partir del 1 de julio de 2020, el P. Jonathan Moré se convierte en el pastor de la parroquia. Llevará el título de Ad-ministrador durante el primer año. Ha sido aprobado para servir a la comunidad de fe por el cardenal DiNardo. Estoy seguro de que todos le darán una cálida bienvenida y lo ayudarán a instalarse en esta hermosa parroquia. El aire de la montaña me pareció beneficioso cuando estuve con el obispo Oscar Cantú en Las Cruces y el pa-dre Alex en Tularosa hace varios años después de haber estado enfermo.

Yo estaré aquí en la Inmaculada Concepción de vez en cuando. En este momento estoy programado para reemplazar al padre Jonathan el fin de semana del Día del Trabajo.

Por favor, oren por mí, como yo quiero para ti. Ore por su pastor, el P. Jonathan, y todos los sacerdotes mientras asumen sus nuevas tareas el 1 de julio de 2020 en un mundo que ha tenido algunos grandes cambios y presentará ciertos desafíos a todos los que están en el ministerio.

Welcoming our New Pastor, Fr Jonathan Moré

Let us all take the first step in welcoming Fr Jonathan when he arrives on July 1 by simply helping him remember our names! Start by wearing a name tag for a couple of weeks to mass. Either wear one that you have made at home or pick up one from the table in the narthex and take it home to write your name on. Our masks will certainly add to the challenge of getting to know everyone since our faces will be partially covered, and wearing a name tag will help tre-mendously.

City of Sealy Proclaims June 28th as Reverend Eric James Pitre Day!

We congratulate and celebrate with Fr Eric as he was presented with this prestigious recognition on Tuesday evening, June 16th, at the City of Sealy Council Meeting. He received a standing ovation as he thanked the mayor of Sealy, Janice Whitehead. Mayor Whitehead also awarded him with a Key to the City of Sealy for devoting the last 14 years of his life to the citizens as the Pastor of Immaculate Conception. Fr Eric was also commended for serving the material needs of hundreds annually through his work with the Sealy Ministerial Alliance and the Salvation Army; with the Red Cross during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey; and as the Shepherd to young and old alike as part of his priestly pastoral duties. Because of these many positive actions ministering the spiritual and corporal works of mercy on behalf of Sealy citizens, Sunday, June 28 has been proclaimed as:
