Two local charities enjoyed the hospitality of imago to mark their ongoing partnership and celebrate the festive
season.
The conference and events arm of Loughborough University hosted a Christmas lunch for 25 guests from Twenty
Twenty and Minnie’s Friends at Burleigh Court last week (December 3).
During the course of 2015, imago has raised a grand total of £3022.05 to the two charities - Minnie's Friends and
Twenty Twenty.
Fundraising activities have included Guess the Pumpkin weight during Halloween, Summer Raffle, Taste of Leicestershire
Sunday Lunches where 50p was donated per cover, Christmas Hamper Raffle, and imago’s Chief Executive Kay England
running a Half Marathon.
Minnie's Friends is a drop-in centre which provides for vulnerable people over the age of 18, particularly the homeless, the lonely, those with debt problems or those suffering
from drug and alcohol misuse.
Twenty Twenty helps disadvantaged and disengaged young people to develop self-belief, self- worth and motivation, whilst achieving academic qualifications and learning
work ready skills that help them to find and keep good jobs.
Liam Clamp, marketing manager at imago, welcomed the guests alongside Sean Perkins from the organisation’s enquiry team. He commented: “The lunch was a huge
success and a great way to celebrate the festive season with our charity partners. The money used to host the event would have otherwise been used to send Christmas
cards, but we think this was a more worthwhile way to contribute to the local community and share it with people we have worked closely with over the last 12 months.
Throughout the year we have undertaken a variety of fundraising events which have raised vital funds for Minnie’s Friends and Twenty Twenty and we look forward to
carrying on our partnership with them.”
