Global Innovators: Artificial Intelligence Inspired

Years 1-5

Through a global journey, participants will explore cultures and countries, and hear stories of how, where and why street food originated.They will draw on their Character Strengths of Perspective, Team Work, Curiosity and Prudence as they consider why street food is such an integral part of people’s lives and reflect on their own experiences locally or through travels internationally. Participants will immerse themselves in cultures from around the world and make a variety of street food.

Years 4-9

As our next generation of changemakers, participants will explore the use of artificial intelligence in current projects around the globe. From conserving endangered wildlife to smart assistants like Alexa and Siri, artificial intelligence is revolutionising our world in a diverse range of fields. Participants will draw on their Character Strengths of Curiosity, Creativity, Open Mindedness and Perspective by utilising future-focused pedagogy, to innovate ethical solutions in line with UNESCO’s Sustainable Development Goals incorporating artificial intelligence.

Wednesday 10 July 9.00 am to 4.00 pm

Years 1 to 6

Participants will explore the art and history of puppeteering. They will draw on their Character Strengths of Creativity, Curiosity and Bravery, implementing visual art techniques and creative ideas to create a puppet with unique characteristics and expressive facial features. They will imagine, create and represent stories in small teams with their puppet characters, exploring and experimenting through improvisation and performance.

Calling all budding STEMinists who love to create solutions to problems - are you ready for a new challenge? Participants will draw on their Character Strengths of Curiosity, Creativity, Persistence and Bravery, working through a range of tasks that foster critical and creative thinking, creating solutions to problems encountered in short stories. A special half day course just for you!

Budding STEMinists

Years 5-9

Stemming from participants’ intense interest in the April course, the Chemistry of Cooking course has been reinvigorated with all new investigations for our experimental scientists! Participants will draw on their Character Strengths of Curiosity, Teamwork and Prudence to explore the scientific principles of engineering, physics and chemistry that underlie cooking through hands-on experimentation. The unique part of the course - you can eat your own experiments!
