The national office is a flurry of activity with the final preparations underway for our 24th annual Consac - Imagemakers tradeshow and convention September 25th and 26th. We are pleased with the caliber of exhibitors booked for this year’s show despite the severe global economic downturn.
For many companies, marketing budgets were slashed this year making it tough for them to commit the dollars normally allocated for exhibiting. In response, The Sign Association of Canada created The Marketplace – an affordable alternative to the traditional exhibit space. We think the concept has legs and will likely become a viable option for future Consac – Imagemakers shows.
The Marketplace isn’t the only change to the show this year. A greater focus has been placed on developing more in depth, interactive seminars that will expose hidden opportunities and provide critical knowledge necessary to grow your business. Government officials, regulated agency representatives and industry experts will deliver six - ninety minute collaborative presentations over the course of two days. A complete detailed outline of the seminars including the presenters, dates and times can be found on page 8. Early registration for the seminars is encouraged as space is limited.
Our National Imagemakers Competition remains an integral component of Consac – Imagemakers ‘09. In respect of the outstanding work submitted each year, we felt the display of entries was deserved of a more prominent, less congested space than that of the registration area. A total of 400 square feet has been allocated on the exhibit floor to showcase the amazing talent within our industry. The winners who have achieved excellence within their category will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday September 26th.
SAC-ACE has always believed the importance of striking the right balance at the show. We recognize the need for injecting a little recreational activity to kick things off. After all what better way to gear up for the hustle and bustle of exhibiting than spending a day on the links. The Annual Don Morgan Memorial Golf Tournament will get underway Thursday September 24th at Royal Woodbine Golf Club. You’ll need every club in the bag playing this course. You may also want to think about bringing along your hip waders with water coming into play on every hole. This event sells out quickly. Call 416-603-7779 to register and avoid disappointment.
Of course, no Imagemakers show would be complete without a Friday night of fun and frivolity. Grab your colleagues and customers and join us at Rogers Centre to watch the Jays take on the Mariners from the luxury of a private box. Connect over dinner in our very own catered suite while the boys of summer play their last regular season home stand! Bus transportation to and from Rogers Centre will be provided.
In closing, a special thank you is extended to all who continue to support The Sign Association of Canada’s Consac – Imagemakers. Supporting the show effectively helps us support you! While at the show, please do stop by the booth and say hello.
See you in September. Regards,
Fred ElkinsPresidentSign Association of Canada

In these tough economic times when government ‘Bailouts’ seem commonplace, at least for those select multi billion dollar corporations, do you ever ask yourself the question; “Why not me”? “Where’s my support”? After all your company pays sizably into the system through taxes each year…shouldn’t that earn you the right of an equivalent value in return of services/assistance? Simply answered, YES.
In this revealing seminar you will uncover how to access significant resources and millions of dollars in hidden federal and provincial capital through links to government programs. You will gain a solid understanding of how these programs work and what they will mean to your company’s future growth. Now is the time to mobilize your organization to your competitive advantage today and tomorrow.
If you answer NO to the question; “Is the government funding your business”? - Then you owe it to yourself to attend this seminar. What you don’t know is hurting your business and limiting your growth potential. English only
