image manipulation
TRANSCRIPT
I initially changed the image from the original by
highlighting the image with the pen tool and changing the
hue/saturation levels; by heightening the lightness. I then
made this more effected by creating a new layer and using
the brush tool to darken the background, especially on the
left hand side, to make the face stand out and be the sole
focus of the image.
Then, I used the brush tool to make the black lines around
her face darker, altering the opacity level in different places
to make the boldness change from lower to higher in
different places. I then used the eyedropper tool to use the
darkest red found on the cut and spread it with the brush
tool across both of the cuts on the actress’ face, making
them stand out clearer.
Afterwards, I intensified the actress’ eyebrows by cutting
around them with the pen tool and darkening them by
lowering the contrast level on the brightness/contrast bar. I
then used the pen tool to cut around the lips which I then
coloured darker slightly and went around again by using
the eyedropper to highlight the red used on the scar, and
lower the opacity to make it seem fainter.
I then used the pen tool
to cut around the
eyes, changing the
hue/saturation levels to
lighter to make them
less intense and weaker
and further altered the
colour balance to make
her pale. This was the
final image of my
alterations.
