Image manipulation

This was the original image that I took, to me the image is too bright, and this is due to it being a close up shot with the flash on. This image is going to be used on the front cover so therefore it needs to be perfect, as I believe it is too bright I am going to edit it in Photoshop.

As it is the brightness of the image that is affecting it I am going to change the brightness and contrast of the image.

Here is the image after I have changed the contrast and brightness. To get this result I had to make the brightness lower but higher the contrast, this lowered the brightness of the models face however made her facial features more dominate. I now believe that this picture is suitable to be used as a front cover image of my magazine.

This is the tool used in Photoshop that edited the brightness and contrast of the image.
