4. Keep it to one page – you can always point information to a website, blog or online portfolio.

The Portfolio

You are designers, it should therefore be designed!

If you have worked collaboratively on a piece of work,

explain what you have done.

Have a low res PDF version for email.

Practice interviewing with someone or with the recruiter. (Remember recruiters are there to help you get a job.)

If you are applying directly give it a week before contact.

A recruiter will give you an estimated time frame for a response.

But do not harass people.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch

Offering your services free allows you to understand

process, methods, culture as well as getting invaluable

experience.

Internships, often mean no salary (they may cover

expenses) or minimum salary for a set period of time.

Important!!!!

Do not let employers take advantage of you. Make sure

you have everything in writing and for a defined amount

of time.

How much?

Recent graduate salaries

$32-35,000 for new graduates

$45,000 – 2 years experience.
