Membership in Illusions is voluntary. We meet after school on Thursdays in room 140. All students are welcome to participate. Submission of artwork to be considered for publication is accepted all year through digital submission to our email. Periodically, we hold contests that are juried by our staff.

Illusions is published using InDesign software on Macin-tosh computers and printed commercially by VISOgraphic printing.

Editors Statement The release of the 43rd edition of Hinsdale South High School’s Illusions Magazine came with its challeng-es, but this year’s staff still powered through and created a magazine we can all take pride in. This edition, we were inspired by minimalism art, and especially by one-line drawings. To contrast this hectic year, we hoped to create a magazine that was calm, simple, and easy on the mind. Through contests, teacher submisssions, and art shows, we collected the art pieces in this magazine. To have a chance at seeing your piece in Illusions next year, talk to your art teachers. The COVID-19 pandemic left us with plenty of challenges to overcome. For a majority of the year, we com-municated through video meetings and had to adapt to the nuances of this new school system. Nontheless, we pulled through and will release a limited print run for distribution. These prints have been made for framing so you can dis-play your favorite works at home. Thank you to the dedicated staff who helped put this magazine together, and I hope you enjoy this year’s magazine! - Becca Sitasz

When I was reading the Principal’s Monday Morning newsbrief to the staff, she gave a shout out to some of the gorgeous works of art from our students. Carolina’s picture of “Just Like Heaven” touched my heart and I was willing to buy a print of it. She has an amazing gift and I look forward to someday viewing her art in a studio when she becomes a famous artist!!!!
