IOGA has a rich history in the protection of the oil and gas legal and regulatory arena in Springfield and Washington, D.C. We have:lHelped negotiate the Hydraulic Fracturing

Regulatory Act and the Illinois Hydraulic Fracturing Tax Act

lResisted the imposition of a severance tax on oil production

lDefeated proposed legislation which would have prevented or restricted the ability to drill wells

lAdvocated to preserve the Percentage Depletion Allowance

lAdvocated to limit the Quad O (a) methane requirements and to establish an exemption for stripper wells

lAdvocated to prevent a prohibition on all methods of oil and gas production

lMet with county assessors to formulate the ad valorem tax schedule

lAttended Oil and Gas Advisory Board meetings and met with IDNR personnel to review and advocate for reasonable oil and gas rules and regulations

IOGA Events

For income tax purposes, 90% of IOGA dues payments may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expenses, but not as a charitable contribution, and 10% are considered lobbying expenses under the 1993 Tax Act and, therefore, are non-deductible. All membership prices are for a one-year IOGA membership.
