Illegal dumping is a crime.

The Texas Litter Abatement Act sets penalties from a Class C Misdemeanor with fines up to $500 to a State Jail Felony with fines up to $10,000 and two years in state jail.

Call the North Central Texas Illegal Dumping hotline at 1-888-335-DUMP if you see something.

Helpful info to include in your report:

• the address or intersection and the name of the city and county where the dump site is located

• the type of waste dumped

• the date and time of the violation

• the license plate number and description of the vehicle that made the illegal dump

• the personal description of the violator

• your name and contact information*
