Transhumanism is a loosely defined movement that has developed gradually over the past two decades.

Attention is given to both present technologies, like genetic engineering and information technology, and

anticipated future ones, such as molecular nanotechnology and artificial intelligence. The enhancement-

options that are being discussed include radical extension of human health-span, eradication of disease,

elimination of unnecessary suffering, and augmentation of human intellectual, physical and emotional

capacities. Transhumanists hope we shall eventually manage to become posthumans, beings with vastly

greater capacities than present humans.

Ahriman wants knowledge to be devoid of warm human interest and connection, to be stored in

libraries and not to live in human souls. In medicine: materialistic, mechanistic (and atrocious)

experimentalism and treatment, without understanding of the living human individual.

immersion in the sense-world to the exclusion of the supersensible. In world-view: Men as animals,

You see, as the human body develops, these beings are able to enter into it at a definite time before the

specifically covering the transhumanists´ 'singularity' concept in an upcoming science-fiction film:

Stargate, Independence Day, and 2012) - is back with a new science-fiction thriller

project. It's titled Singularity'

The grandiose utterance; 'we are the Gods now' is also identical to what Peter Weyland proclaimed

in Ridley Scott's science-fiction film 'Prometheus' - Weyland is the fictitious character in the film which is

loaded with transhumanist elements.

seriously and has PR about life extension, employment, resources, and other

Transhumanism PR. Scary. It even says here that, "Weyland Industries

energy, electronics, terraforming, security and cybernetics." Well that sounds just

like our world elite right now. The fictitious corp also has links to the FDA, US

Goverment, and........Olympics!!! As well as defence, security, and arms.

knowledge may bring you wealth and give you eminence and power but there may still be poverty.

put knowledge in its right place. Without knowledge it's not possible to live in this technological

and almost mechanical civilization but it will not transform the human being and his society.

Georg Henrik von Wright in his book, “The Myth of Progress”, ends his first chapter with the archetype of the

Sorcerers apprentice, as an almost defeatist metaphor for the technos-future of western civilization:

The collective shadowside of Western civilization is arguably faustian, i.e. seeking knowledge for its own sake,

whatever the price, and is fiercely pushing the transhumanist movement forward in the 21st Century in order

to acquire immortality in the flesh, transhuman superpowers, technocratic overlord elitism, merging of human

biology with artificial intelligence and machines, freedom from pain, etc.

Emotional pain will be eradicated in this vision of a brave new hedonistic but soulless society in which

To give Kurzweil (seen by many as the spearheading techno-priest of transhumanism) due credit; he has done

very good things but technology is not clear-cut but a double-edged sword.

The shadow of transhumanism in the form of narcissism and rage cannot be underestimated either:

ad absurdum of the body-loathing, narcissistic death-denialism, crass materialism,

Worst-Case Scenarios - Transhumanism, Fascist Developments, Destruction

Although most of the planet is blissfully unaware of what is approaching, lulled by promises of a “great big

beautiful tomorrow,” the near transhumanist future will be anything but beautiful. A terrifying future thunders

toward mankind, an impending fate embodied by monstrous combinations of human and animal genetic

materials, of man/machine cyborgs, and of beings not only with increased capacities and extended life-spans,

but also with re-engineered morality void of compassion. What can possibly go wrong?

Though there are many positive aspects of the technological revolution, the transhumanist future specifically,

in certain aspects, is so abhorrent as to almost defy the imagination.

These new beings, and the transhumanists looking forward to their arrival, will not be benevolent.

Just the opposite.

Because the goal of those creating these beings - DARPA-tech infused anti-spiritual materialist

transhumanists - will be that they will replace human beings, that the new race will be posthumans. The word

“posthuman” sounds innocuous enough. Until one realizes that “post” means “after.” As in “the human race is

gone.”

Of course one might argue that this could be a gradual process. This is a tragic assumption, however. In fact,

the process will be rapid, undertaken with surprise attacks. This won't be a process in which one race replaces

another, slowly and peacefully, even if that's the misrepresentation that most people receive. It will be violent,

bloody conflict.

What is planned is a quick change, a coup d'état once an accelerated point of no return has been reached.

When that occurs the autonomy of self-replicating technology will have a huge impact and it will happen

before the singularity is reached.

The explicit transhumanist goal is to replace mankind. A stratified technocratic brave new world mixed with

1984 in which the uneducated masses have been employed for technocratic utilitarian purposes, excluded and

marginalized, put to the dust bin of obsolete evolution by the techno-priests of the new millenium - while the

top layers will consist of hedonistic death-anxious health freaks, Ayn Rand ultra-libertarian transhumanists,

borderline sociopaths, cryonics and mind uploading enthusiasts, technocratic transhumanist overlords and

singularitarians, etc. ...in an exponentially expanding and unpredictable world of high weirdness X 100000.

The new inheritors who lead this purge will be the stuff of science fiction.

What was once the realm of madmen's imaginations and the stuff of nightmares has now become the unholy

grail that factions of the scientific community are striving for. Mankind was kicked out of the Garden of Eden

lest “in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and

evil.”

Today there are those reaching for that fruit, working diligently to rebuild mankind into a new image,

changing things at the genetic level, and rearranging the basic makeup into super-beings that will be like

gods when compared to normal individuals.

These Ahrimanically influenced immortalists, singularitarians, geneticists and nano-technologists believe they

can out-do Cosmic intelligence, and see mankind as a “flawed design” that can be reformed into a new,

terrifying image. They have no qualms about doing this. Indeed, they are convinced this is the “next step in

evolution” that must be taken. The Zeitgeist tendency could also be named: The dehumanization of humans

and the humanization of machines - and our culture is now promoting this in media, films, advertising, etc.

Their transformed creations will become a new ruling elite that is superior physically and mentally to normal

individuals. Those forming these transhumans hope to transform themselves as well, and plan to rule

alongside these new gods. (What these misguided scientists don't realize is that many of them will

undoubtedly be viewed as expendable and ultimately will become part of the billions of “normals” who will be

marginalized as the world is transformed into a nightmare ruled by the neo-gods they created.)

Like Pandora who released the scourges and plagues upon mankind, these researchers intent on improving

the human genetic line will soon be witnessing the hybridization of large numbers of people, and a wide array

of unintended consequences as the Faustian price for having aborted all precautionary principles and this will

become obvious - always in retrospective for the proponents.

This future is not something a century away. This Pandora's box is already cracked open; some of the

technology has already escaped - indeed much of it is already being put to use (one of many examples):

The disclosure that 30 healthy babies were born after a series of experiments in the United States

provoked another furious debate about ethics. So far, two of the babies have been tested and have

been found to contain genes from three 'parents'.

whose motives are often less than good and whose ideologies we think are 'ours', 'natural', 'the way things

have always been', 'it's in the syllabus so suck it up if you want to pass exam', blabla......and similar decrepit

stuff, thinking we are 'free' and 'informed' - what a monstrous inhumane truman show....

Ahriman As Transhumanism - Transition And Dangers Of Our Present Time

Martinus, the Danish mystic and visionary, said in one of his last lectures that a great 'Ragnarok' will come

('doomsday'; being a period starting with the great wars in the 20th Century and culminating in events yet to

come) but will eventually result in a culture of building the future anew into a true world culture, a higher true

humanity and a world culture of love.

He said that we are living in a lovely place here in Scandinavia with our good neighbors, one of the best places

in the world, and that the war to come cannot be avoided and we will also be influenced (to a lesser degree

than most other places).

According to Martinus, the war will result in a transition from a culture of revenge and punishment towards a

culture of forgiveness, of love, of true international brotherhood, of Christ consciousness...the beginning of

an enlightened world culture.

It is clear that neither Rudolf Steiner and Martinus would view Transhumanism as the solution to our problems

- on the contrary; it is evident that Transhumanism in many respects very much represents the forces of

Ahriman.

The anthroposophical view is that good is found in the balance between two polar, generally evil influences

on world and human evolution. Two spiritual adversaries endeavour to tempt and corrupt humanity: these are

often described through their mythological embodiments, Lucifer and his counterpart Ahriman, which have

both positive and negative aspects.

Lucifer is the light spirit, which "plays on human pride and offers the delusion of divinity", but also motivates

creativity and spirituality;

Ahriman is the dark spirit, which tempts human beings to "...deny [their] link with divinity and to live entirely

on the material plane", but also stimulates intellectuality and technology.

Both figures exert a negative effect on humanity when their influence becomes misplaced or one-sided, yet

their influences are necessary for human freedom to unfold.

Each human being has the task to find a balance between these opposing influences, and each is helped in

this task by the mediation of the Representative of Humanity, also known as the Christ being, a spiritual entity

who stands between and harmonizes the two extremes.

Rudolf Steiner spoke of Ahriman as an actual, living spiritual entity. This being, he said, works to embed

people firmly into physicality, encouraging dull, materialistic attitudes and a philistine, dry intellect.

Steiner, in rare prophetic occasions, talks about an actual incarnation of Ahriman on the earth and the

potential consequences.

Just as Christ incarnated in a physical body, so would Ahriman incarnate in the Western world - before 'a part'

of the third millennium had passed. Steiner places this incarnation in the context of a 'cosmic triad' - Lucifer,

Christ and Ahriman.

Ahriman will incarnate as a counterpoint to the physical incarnation of Lucifer in the East in the third

millennium BC, with the incarnation of Jesus Christ in Palestine as the balancing point between the two. Over

the period during which Steiner developed anthroposophy - a speaking career that spanned two decades and

more than six thousand lectures - he referred to the idea of Ahriman's incarnation only six times.

The bad news, in one sense, is that Ahriman is coming (or is here), and there is nothing we can do about it.

In addition, collective humanity is helping his incarnation and that of his henchmen.

Steiner predicted that the forces who have inspired Nazism will be at its maximum around the beginning of

21st Century (very evident on multiple parameters) and that Ahriman will do everything in his power to

advance this moment as much as he can. .... 'Whether he will succeed in this will depend on the question

whether there will be enough people who see through his designs!'

In 1916 Rudolf Steiner said that at the beginning of the twenty-first century, evil will appear in a form which

at that time [1916] could not yet be described.... some estimates say that the nadir of this battle will fall

around the years 2020 to 2040. National Socialism and Bolshevism will pale in comparison with this.

This is not new information for anthroposophists. On the other hand, there is good news: through human

activity, it is possible to help Ahriman serve humanity.

We do not have to endure him only; we can work to make Ahriman a helper of human beings. Believing that

Ahriman's incarnation need not be an evil event, as he wishes it to be. This incarnation is necessary in

human and earthly evolution, and it can be turned toward the good, if mankind meets it in the right way:

On the mundane level, we can remedy Ahrimanic tedium in the work-life and the intellectual life, by filling

them with warm, Luciferic enthusiasm, by finding what is interesting in them, by getting ourselves interested

in objective, impersonal facts and processes. On the psychological level, we can remedy Luciferic subjectivity

and fiery emotionalism by observing ourselves coolly, as we would an external natural process...

The intention of Ahriman, and his hosts, is to freeze the earth into complete rigidity, so that it will not pass

over to next stages, and to make the Man into an entirely earthly being -- unindividualized, unfree, and

divorced from the normal Gods' cosmos.

The essential Ahrimanic tendency is to materialize; to crystallize; to darken; to silence; to bring living, mobile

forces into fixed form -- in other words, to kill that which is living.

This tendency in itself, within proper bounds, is not evil; the dead, material world is necessary for the regular

Gods' plan of human and cosmic development.

The Ahrimanic tendency is evil only when it exceeds proper bounds, when it reaches into what should be alive

- and Ahriman does try to exceed proper bounds.

Again, the basic reality of the world is spiritual beings together with their deeds, but Ahriman promotes the

illusion, the lie, that matter is the basic reality, or the only reality.

Lucifer is too warm, too flighty, too unstable; he inspires human fanaticism, false mysticism, hot-

bloodedness, and the tendency to flee earthly reality for hallucinatory pleasures.

Ahriman is too cold, too hard, too rigid; he tries to make people dry, prosaic, philistine, materialistic in

thought and in deed - and hardens what would be healthily mobile, supple thoughts, feelings, and even

bodies.

Christ, as the Exemplar of the regular Gods, represents the middle way between the too-much and the too-

little, holding the opposites in balance -- and leading Mankind to find the healthy middle way.

The Representative of Humanity: Between Lucifer and Ahriman

Seen this way, Lucifer and Ahriman are not purely evil; they both bring to human and earthly evolution

forces that are needed for good, healthy development and the fulfillment of the Gods' plans.

Evil results only when events get out of balance and run to extremes.

However, neither do Lucifer and Ahriman simply oppose each other; in a sense, they work together in

opposition to the 'Gods' intent for evolution; they both work to prevent Mankind and the earth from

progressing together to the New Jupiter (next stage in earth evolution, not the physical Jupiter).

Lucifer draws human spirits away from earthly embodiment toward his own psychic-spiritual "planet" of light;

Ahriman pushes the individual human spirit out of the human organism and away from the earth, so that only

a hardened, mechanized, ghostly human organism, devoid of free individuality and living an instinctive-but-

clever animalistic species-life remains on the hardened "cosmic slag" of the earth.

Now, in order that his incarnation may take the most profitable form, it is of the utmost interest to Ahriman

that people should perfect themselves in all our illusory modern science, but without knowing that it is

illusion. Ahriman has the greatest possible interest in instructing men in mathematics, but not in instructing

them that mathematical mechanistic concepts of the universe are merely illusions.

He is intensely interested in bringing men chemistry, physics, biology and so on, as they are

presented today in all their remarkable effects, but he is interested in making men believe that

these are absolute truths, not that they are only points of view, like photographs from one side.

If you photograph a tree from one side, it can be a correct photograph, yet it does not give a

picture of the whole tree. If you photograph it from four sides, you can in any case get an

idea of it. To conceal from mankind that in modern intellectual, rationalistic science with

its supplement of a superstitious empiricism, one is dealing with a great illusion, a

deception - that men should not recognize this is of the greatest possible interest to

Ahriman.

It would be a triumphant experience for him if the scientific superstition which

grips all circles today and by which men even want to organize their social science,

should prevail into the third millennium. He would have the greatest success if he could

then come as a human being into Western civilization and find the scientific superstition.

But I ask you not to draw false conclusions from what I have just said. It would be a false

conclusion to avoid the science of the day; that is the very falsest conclusion which could

be drawn.

We must get to know science; we should get an exact knowledge of all that

comes from this direction - but with the full consciousness that we are receiving an

illusory aspect, an illusion necessary for our education as men. We do not safeguard

ourselves against Ahriman by avoiding modern science, but by learning to know its

character. For modern science gives us an external illusion of the universe, and we need

this illusion.

Do not imagine that we do not need it. We must only fill it in from quite

another side with actual reality gained through spiritual research, we must rise from the

illusory character to the true reality. You will find reference in many of my lecture courses

to what I am telling you today, and you will see how everywhere it has been

sought to enter fully into the science of our time, but to lift it all to the sphere where one

can see its real value. You cannot wish to get rid of the rainbow because you know it to

be an illusion of light and color! You will not understand it if you do not realize its

illusory character. But it is just the same with all that modern science gives you for your

imagination of the universe, it gives only illusions and that must be recognized. It is by

educating oneself through these illusions that one arrives at the reality.

This, then, represents one of the means used by Ahriman to make his incarnation as

effective as possible - this keeping of man back in scientific superstition.

The second means that he employs is to stir up all the emotions that split men up into

small groups - groups that mutually attack one another. You need only look at all the

conflicting parties that exist today, and if you are unprejudiced you will recognize that

the explanation is not to be found merely in human nature.

If men honestly try to explain this so-called World War through human disharmonies, they will

realize that with what they find in physical humanity they cannot explain it. It is precisely here that

"supersensible" powers, Ahrimanic powers, have been at work. These Ahrimanic powers are working, in fact,

wherever disharmonies arise between groups of men.

Conclusion: The technological reengineering on the molecular level of our entire biology, neurology and the

Faustian promise of the complete nullification of emotional pain, disease, and ultimately the cessation of

physical death itself, are perfect hallmarks of Ahrimanic forces in their ambition and aspiration - but it also

means bypassing the cosmic evolutionary processes; free will, karma, disease, death; the processes by which

we learn and grow spiritually and cosmically.. .the cessation of karmic neutralizations of harmful stagnations

to our spiritual growth, the eradication of individuality, etc. While some aspects of transhumanism can

alleviate unnecessary suffering and improve our world tremendously, the shadow ethos is explicitly ahrimanic

- and if carried out with success - equals an irreversible interruption, a path irreversibly severed from the

higher spiritual hierarchies, a magnificent material but lifeless cosmos filled with the greatest accomplishment

beyond imagination which pure almost omnipotent intellect can deliver but with no heart, soul or spirit (not

unlike the postulated characteristics of a certain type of the alien Greys)...or possibility of achieving cosmic

consciousness. In other words; a cosmic tragedy and abomination... viewed with anthroposophical optics....

Post Scriptum Promethean Ponderings:

By the way; Prometheus (always a positive archetype for me personally) literally (and ironically) means

'foresight' but when interpreting Prometheus in transhumanist allusions, it might be misleading, since

Prometheus at best is an archetype for progress of individual freedom and autonomy - in Steiner's term; a

positive Luciferian quality.

Nonetheless, the promethean archetype, viewed as the countless of unintended consequences (and also the

possible deliberate consequences by the hands of a so-called Illuminati elite, for a lack of a better word) for

the future of the human race, implies an ambiguous archetype:

"Thus [promethean] fire is a privileged phenomenon that can explain everything.

If everything that changes slowly is explained by life, everything that changes quickly is explained

by fire. Fire is ultralife. Fire is intimate, and it is universal. It lives in our hearts. It lives in the sky.

It reveals depths of substance and offers itself as love. It descends once again into matter and

hides as a latent force, like hatred or vengeance. Among all phenomena, it is really the only one

that can contain two contrary valorizations, good and evil. It shines in Paradise. It burns in Hell. It

principles used to explain universal substance."

The key ultimate question therefore, is not 'either/or' but 'both/and' it seems. Technology in

itself - though some are inherently destructive - is generally neutral. Promethean technology in

the service of Ahrimanic transhumanism seems mind-blowingly fraught with intended

destructive...and non-intended consequences.

Some quoted ponderings on Prometheus and Lucifer:

that man naturally wants for himself, but something that God is determined he shall have; man

"Of the hell of Paradise Lost Professor Wilson Knight has said 'that it is peopled by beings of tragic

wisdom and masterful resolve' in short, by Prometheuses. But precisely because of that, his other

dictum, that in Satan Milton expresses and half-condemns his own impatient demand for a perfect

Christian order, is inadequate. What Milton 'half-condemns' is much more than that. It is

everything Prometheus stands for, in a conception which regards every human assertion and

progress as a trespass, committed under the high patronage of the father of all self-assertion and

As he is the sole power-carrier in our present universe, every progress and activity is associated

problem of history and civilization may go against the grain of more modern-minded Christians,

and they would be loath to admit that the late Archbishop's strictures on the poem as a failure,

really imply the relative failure of Christianity.

We have a Zeus-like God, a Son who as yet refuses to wield power, and a humanity which, because

it is created in a Creator-God's own image, is brimful of enterprise and creative energy. In the

prevailing psychic constellation however this energy is 'bedevilled' and sacrificed

to the hubris fear-complex. Lucifer, not being worshiped, is thus condemned, and with him

Prometheus with whom he now is associated."

Tarnas:

Uranus represents the principle of change, of freedom, rebellion, and revolution. It is associated

with unexpected phenomena of all kinds, with sudden surprises and awakenings, with

breakthroughs--intellectual, psychological, spiritual. It governs the sudden breakup of established

structures, and tends to have an exciting and electric quality. It also rules individualism and

originality, invention and technology, creative genius and brilliant mental insight. .. Prometheus,

who stole fire from the heavens in rebellion against the gods to give humankind greater freedom.

The Promethean impulse associated with the planet Uranus represents that part of us that seeks to

go our own way, to choose our own individual path in life. Its influence inclines one to be

changeable, restless, and unpredictable--sometimes irresponsibly so--in a constant quest for

personal freedom and new experience. Uranus also mediates creativity and innovation: in its less

exalted forms it can signify only eccentricity or lawlessness, but in its highest expression it can

indicate real genius, and a capacity for making significant personal or cultural breakthroughs in

the course of one's life.

The Prometheus archetype associated with the planet Uranus correlates with that stage in the

archetypal birth process in which one is suddenly liberated from the constrictions of the birth

canal and experiences sudden freedom, awakening, new life, new identity, a radical expansion of

horizons: Prometheus Unbound.

There is another side to this archetype's energy, however, which can make the experience of

Uranus a very different matter.

When a person has not integrated the Promethean impulse toward creative freedom, autonomous

individualism, and capacity for change, there is a strong tendency to experience this archetype as

something that happens to one from without in upsetting, disruptive ways.

That is, instead of being ourselves a source of change and independence and excitement, we may

tend to have change and unpredictable events thrust upon us, so that we are forced to open up

our life to new horizons and new possibilities.

Uranus thus confronts the Saturnian part of us that wishes to hold on, to maintain the status quo,

to resist change in favor of security, tradition, and the established order.

The rebel-trickster side of the Prometheus archetype can thus come from within or without, and in

the latter case a person can feel constantly subject to problematic changes that require one to

reorient one's life. Whether these changes are precipitated by other people, by new psychological

or physical conditions, or by external circumstances, their role is to open one's life to something

new. If one is identified excessively with the past, if one tries to hold on to structures that are

outmoded, then one will experience Uranus as a disruptive force that at times can be quite

uncomfortable. But the potential is always there for one to integrate the archetype, and for one to

contact one’s own capacity for freedom and excitement, for openness to the unexpected and the

new.

When any planet is in major aspect to Uranus, that second planetary archetype tends to be

liberated into expression, often in sudden, unusual, or unexpected ways. The second archetype is

given an exciting, creative or innovative stimulation, and can be a source of both freedom and

unanticipated change."
