About

Ilario Caliendo tries to analyze the quirks and phobias of con-temporary social life, with an ‘eye to the abuse of the network and the addiction on social media. His works investigate various ar-eas such as copyright, new art forms, trash, strange things and visual hallucinations. His approach recalls the poetic and activist hacker traditional at-titude using irony as a means of reflection.

Every five seconds, some-

one in the world die

because of starvation. Every

five seconds, a new image

with the hashtag “foodporn”

is published on Insta-

gram. It is as if the reckless

spending and malnutrition

proceeded at the same rate,

for an incredible and sad

coincidence.Who has not

come across or has created

a photo and then post it

on Instagram with hashtag

foodporn? In the jargon of

the internet, this keyword

has come to identify images

of overabundant and exces-

sive portions. they can be

identified with 5 seconds of

happiness for someone, but

not for all: in those same

five seconds a person dies

from lack of food. They die

every day of hunger and

more than 26,000 people

die in a year, more than 3

million children under age 5.

Hunger is on the first place

in the list of factors of great-

est risk for health in the

world and each year hunger

kills more people than AIDS,

malaria and tuberculosis

combined. All this assumes

an even more daunting

thought that only 20 cents

can provide vitamins and

foods for a child in need to

grow in a healthy way.

Just five seconds

Every five seconds, someone in the world die because of starvation. Every five seconds, a new image with the hashtag “foodporn” is published on Instagram.

Wonderful examples of street art, graffiti of extraordinary beauty

made onto poor support are appear-ing in every city: rubbish bins. The choice fell on the containers and not, more trivially, on the walls, since a wall remains someone’s property , while waste is something that we all pro-

duce, which comes from our homes and therefore represent us most inti-mately. Furthermore, bins are perish-able media compared to a solid wall, which, unless the builinding is de-molished, It is able to withstand for decades to weather and adversity . If we add that, because of the gradual

spread of the collection, soon all these containers will disappear permanent-ly, the desire to save these works so that they are usable for years to come definitely takes on a new meaning. Visitors can choose between viewing through Google Street View physically inaccessible works, or exploring their

territory and then going down the streets and admire them live. Junk With Art is a virtual art gallery open 24/7 and it is fully interactive through the use of Google Maps: clicking on the links that follow the work, the visitor has the opportunity to view directly the works herein documented. A real appreciation of what could undoubtedly be defined, albeit wrongly, junk art. Users will also have the opportunity to participate actively in the col-lection of these testimonies reporting new graffiti or sending firsthand photos of the works in their city or encountered in the course of their journeys.

A group of artists from the school of New Art Technologies Carrara,

outraged by the wasteland affair in Pitelli (SP), has decided to build a pro-vocative intervention to create aware-ness. Using an Open Source program for augmented reality (www.wikitude.com) we invite anyone who wants to

pay tribute to this beautiful land, vio-lated by the greed of man, to create a snapshot of Pitelli “planting “a sponta-neous symbolic flower in 3D through the application on their smartphone, with the hope that one day everything can become viral, and so real.
