ACCEPTED QUALIFICATICATIONS FROM ETHIOPIA

Qualification Leads to entry into

Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate (overall 50%+) with GCSE subject equivalency;Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (from 2003); Diploma (1 year from a university)

Foundation year

Diploma (2 years from a university) – 60% or above;Technical/Vocational Diploma (3 years)

Year 1 of Bachelors degrees (Level 4)

A recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%

FOUNDATION PROGRAMME (FP)

• Designed by IIT for students who do not meet the entrycriteria for degree programmes offered by the university

• Provides access to 1st year of degree programme• Is accepted by many universities in Australia and UK for

direct entry to 1st year• 1 year programme

BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT (ISBM)

• 4 year sandwich programme with 1 year industrial placement• Students of IIT will receive the degree certificate and

transcripts as per University of Westminster, UK (Internalcertifications)

• Students can transfer to UK as the classes conducted areparallel to what is being taught in UK

Standard Entry Requirement(Other qualifications will be considered for entry)

Minimum 3 passes at the GCE Advanced Level AND6 passes in Ordinary Level exams with a Credit pass in Englishand Mathematics

ASSOCIATED CAREERS - SE

You will possess knowledge of a range of technical subjects,and the ability to synthesise this knowledge to producepractical solutions to engineering requirements in a largenumber of application areas. You will typically be part of ateam building software applications for business andindustry.

Typical career opportunities include: software engineer,web application programmer, software designer/ analyst,website designer/ programmer, or senior team leader. thedegree will also give you adequate knowledge and studyskills to continue with further study and/or research.

Lectures, tutorials and computer workshops aresupported by a variety of teaching methods,computer-enhanced learning tools, and industry-standard applications software.

We place an emphasis on active studentinvolvement and problem solving.

Assessments are either based on a combinationof course work and an end-of-module exam, orassessed through course work only.
