WheelDrivePins

These two pins (one on eachside of the wheel shaft), secure thewheels to the wheel shaft and canbe positioned by you to put thewheels in either a WHEEL DRIVEor a FREEWHEEL mode.

Before starting the engine, putboth wheels in the WHEEL DRIVEposition by inserting the WheelDrive Pins through the holes inboth the wheel shaft and wheelhub on both sides of the tiller (seeinstructions on next page). This"locks" the wheels to the wheelshaft, causing the wheels to turnwhen you engage the ForwardClutch Bail,

Use the FREEWHEEL positiononly when the engine is off. Thisposition lets you easily push or pull

the tiller. To use the FREEWHEELmode, place the Wheel Drive Pinsthrough the holes in the wheelshaft only (see instructions onnext page), This keeps the wheelson the shaft, thus allowing thewheels to rotate freely when youpush or pull the tiller handlebar.

WARNINGNever let either of the wheelsbe in FREEWHEEL positionwhen the engine is running.Alwaysput bothwheelsin theWHEELORIVEpositionbeforestartingthe engine,

Failure to complycouldcauseloss of tiller control, propertydamage, or personalinjury.

OPERATION

DepthRegulatorLeverThis lever controls the depth that

the tines penetrate the soil (see Fig-ure 3-5). Adjust the lever to changetilling depth by pulling back on it andmoving the lever up (for deeper till-ing) or down (for shallower tilling).

To'place the tines in the "travel"position, move the lever down to thehighest notch. This raises the tinesabove the ground and allows thetiller to be moved without tilling.

Anti-Reverse Stake

This stake is located at the rear ofthe transmission, under the tine hood(see Figure 3-6). Its purpose is toautomatically help prevent thecounter-rotating tines from letting thetiller back up in the direction of theoperator if the tiller wheels had beeninadvertently left in the FREE-WHEEL position. In this situation, the Anti-Reverse Stake will be forceddown into the ground, lifting the tinesupward out of the soil and helpingprevent backward motion of the tiller.

The Anti-Reverse Stake requiresno adjustment, but should be in-spected before each tiller use to veri-fy that it swivels freely. Remove anyclogged materials (dirt, roots, rocks, etc.) that prevent the anti-reversestake from swinging freely.

WARNINGEngaging the tines when thewheels are in FREEWHEELpo-sition can cause the tiller to

move backwardsuddenlyin thedirection of the operator. Be-fore engaging the tines, thewheels must always be inWHEELDRIVE position.

Failuretodosocancauseperson-al injuryorpropertydamage.

Engine Lubrication

The tiller is shipped without oil in theengine. Permanent engine damagewill result if the engine is run withoutoil.

1. Only use high quality detergent oilWithAPI service classification SF,SG, SH, or SH/CD. Above 32OF,useSAE 30; below 32OF,use 5W30. DONOT USE SAE 10W40 OIL.

NOTE: Although multi-viscosity oils(5W30, 10W30, etc.) improve start-ing in cold weather, these oils will re-sult in increased oil consumptionwhen used above 32OF. Check en-gine oil more frequently to avoid pos-sible engine damage from runninglow on oil.

tact with the ground-- move the anti-reverse stake back out of the way toallow the tines to rest on the ground.3. Unscrew the engine oil fill plug(D, Figure 3-10). Using a clean fun-nel, slowly add oil until the oil levelreaches the overflow point in the oilfill tube. ALWAYS MAINTAIN THEOIL LEVEL AT THE OVERFLOWPOINT.

4. Securely replace the oil fill plug.• Check the oil level before each use

and after every five operatinghours. See Page 21.

• Change the oil after the first two op-erating hours and every 10 operat-ing hours thereafter. Change the oilmore often if the machine is operat-ed in extremely dusty or dirty condi-tions. See Page 21.

Fill Fuel Tank

The engine must be off and cool be-fore removing the fuel fill cap (Figure3-11).

Clean area around fuel fill cap andthen remove fill cap. Fill gas tankwith clean, fresh unleaded gasoline.Do not mix oil with gasoline.

Using a funnel or spout, fill tank towithin 1/2" below the bottom of thefuel tank filler neck to prevent spillsand to allow for fuel expansion.

install the fill cap securely and wipeup any spilled gasoline.

Fuel Fill Cap

Figure 3.11: Fill the fuel tank.

IMPORTANT: Experience indicatesthat alcohol-blended fuels (gasohol orusingethanol or methanol) can attractmoisturewhich leads to separationand formation of acids during storage.Acidic gas can damage the fuel sys-tem of an engine while in storage. Toavoid problems, the fuel systemshould be emptied before storage for30 days or longer. Drain the gas

tank, start the engine and let it run un-til the fuel lines and carburetor areempty. Use fresh fuel next season.See STORAGE instructions for addi-tional information. Never use engineor carburetor cleaner products in thefuel tank or permanent damage mayoccur.

DANGERGasoline is highly flammable and its vapors are explosive. Follow thesesafetypracticesto preventinjury fromfire or explosion:

• Neverfill tank if engine is runningor hotfrom use. Let engineand mufflercool downbefore refueling.

• Donotpermitopenflames, sparks,matchesorsmokinginfueling area.

• Fill fuel tank outdoorsin a well-ventilated area. Wipe up any fuel spillsandmove tiller awayfrom fumesbefore startingthe engine.

• Use onlyan approvedfuel containerand lockit safely awayfrom children.• Storefuel andthe tiller in a well-ventilated area. Donot storefuel ortiller

where fuel vaporsmay reachan openflame or spark, or an ignitionsource(a hotwater heater, furnace, clothesdryer, electric motor,or the like).

• Let enginecool betore storing.

Stopping the Engine

1. Release the Forward Clutch Bailto stop the wheels and tines fromturning.

2. Move Engine Throttle Lever toSTOP position to stop the engine.

Startingthe Engine1. Do not engage (hold) the ForwardClutch Bail against the handlebarwhen starting engine.

2. Both wheels must be in theWHEEL DRIVE position (see Figure3-2).

3; Mov_ the Choke Lever to theFULL CHOKE position (move leverin direction of arrowhead located onlever). NOTE: If restarting a warmengine after a short shutdown, moveChoke Lever to NO CHOKE position.

4. Move the Engine Throttle Leverfully up to fast (Rabbit) positionwhich is used for starting.

5:_Place your left hand on the gaso-line tank (to avoid hot surfaces) tostabilize the tiller when starting.

6. Use your right hand to slowly pullthe recoil starter rope (Figure 3-12)untilyou feel resistance. Let itrewind. Then rapidly pull the starterrope outward. (First check for anyobstacles behind you.) Repeat untilthe engine starts.

WARNINGAlways place both wheels inthe WHEELORIVEpositionbe-fore startingthe engine.Never have the wheels in theFREEWHEELpositionwhentheengine is running. When thewheels are in FREEWHEEL,they do nothold backthe tiller, and the tines could propel thetiller backwardrapidly.

Failure to comply could resultin serious personal injury orpropertydamage.

7. Once the engine is running, gradu-ally move the Choke Lever to the NOCHOKE position. If engine falters, move Choke Lever to 1/2 Choke untilengine runs smoothly, then to NOCHOKE position.

NOTE: If engine fails to start afterthree pulls, move Choke Lever to NOCHOKE position and pull starter ropeagain.

NOTE: If engine fires, but does notcontinue to run, move Choke Lever toFULL CHOKE and repeat steps 4, 5and 6 until engine starts.

8. Move the Engine Throttle Lever tothe positionthat provides the desiredengine speed.

Figure 3-12: Pull Recoil Start Ropeout rapidly to start engine.

DANGERDo not run engine indoors. En-gine exhaust contains carbonmonoxide,o deadlygas that iscolorless, odorless andtasteless. "

Failure to follow this instruc-tion couldresult inseriousper-sonal injury or properlydamage.

Guiding the Tiller

When tilling, relax and let the tillermove along at its own speed. Donot push the tiller to make it move

Figure3.13: TIIIIngWlthJustOneHand Is recommended.

faster. Do not push down on thehandlebars to make the tines digmore deeply.

Walk beside the tiller on the un-tilled side. Use one hand, yet keep afirm hand grip on the handlebar(while keeping your arm loose) toguide the tiller. Walking alongsidekeeps you from disturbing the newlytilled soil and replanting any weedseeds which the tines might havebrought up to the surface. It is alsoeasier to control the tiller in hard orrocky soil if you walk beside it guid-ing it with one hand (instead of walk-ing behind the tiller, controlling it withtwo hands).

Tilling Depths

This is a CRT (counter-rotating tine)tiller. As the wheels pull forward, thetines rotate backward. This createsan "uppercut" tine action which digsdeeply, uprooting soil and weeds.Don't overload the engine, but dig asdeeply as possible on each pass.On later passes, the wheels maytend to spin in the soft dirt. Helpthem along by lifting slightly on thehandlebar. (Using just one hand, palm upward, works most easily.)

When cultivating between rows, use a shallow Depth Regulator Leversetting. This will get rid of in-rowweeds, but prevent the tines fromdigging deeply enough to damageplant roots.

16

Page 17: II:RRFTSMRN I - Sears Parts Directthe unit and disengage the controls quickly. 2. Never allow children or untrained ... If nec-essary, apply slight upward pressure to prevent the tines

OPERATION

Moving the Tiller Forward

IMPORTANT: Before you begin till-ing, move the tiller to a safe, levelarea and practice maneuveringwithout actually tilling. Keep theDepth Regulator Lever in the "travel"position.

After you become familiar with thehandling of your tiller, you can moveit into the garden and begin tilling.

WARNINGDo not push down on the han-dlebars to try to make the tillertill more deeply. This preventsthe wheels from controllingtiller speed and can allow thetines to rapidly propel the tillerbackward, which couldresult inloss of control, property dam-age, or personal injury.

1. Put the wheels in the WHEELDRIVE position (wheel pins must bethrough the wheel hubs and the axleholes).

2. Move the Depth Regulator Leverto the desired position. Check thatthe Anti-Reverse Stake swivels freelyback and forth- remove any cloggedmaterial on or around the stake.

3. Start the engine.

4. For forward motion of the wheelsand tines, lift and hold the ForwardClutch Bail against the handlebars. The wheels and tines will rotate aslong as the bail is held in this posi-tion.

5. As the tiller moves forward, let thewheels pull the tiller along. Do notpush the tiller to make it go faster.Allow the tiller to move along at itsown speed.

6. To stop the wheels and tines, re-lease the Forward 'Clutch Bail. Theengine wLIIcontinue to run untilstopped by moving the Engine Throt-tle Lever to the STOP position.

Moving the Tiller Rearward

The tiller weighs only 117 pounds,so it is quite easily maneuvered rear-ward for _ distances by using thefollowing procedure:

1. Release the Forward Clutch Bail.

2. 131tthe handlebar slightly upwarduntil the tLnes are out of the soil.

3. Swing the handlebar to the left sothe right wheel takes a "step" towardthe rear.

4. Now move the handlebar to theright so the left wheel takes a stepbackward.

5. Repeat to "walk" your tiller rear-ward. If longer distances need to becovered in reverse, shut off the en-gine, then move the wheel pins sothe wheels are in FREEWHEEL.

Turningthe Tiller Around

Practice turning your tiller in anopen, level area until you feel com-fortable with the procedure.

1. As you near the end of a row, liftthe handlebar so the tines clear theground. Refer to Figure 3-14.

Figure 3-14: Exiting a row in the garden.

2. As you come out of a row, swingthe handlebars to the side, pivotingthe tiller 180°, so you can line upwith the next row. See Figure 3-15.

3. As the tiller enters the next row, lower the handlebar slowly until thetines start to till.

Tilling in the Garden

The following pages providesuggestions for using the tiller in thegarden. You can design your gardenlayout to obtain the most beneficialuse from your tiller.

OPERATION

SeedbedPreparation

Pdor to planting, be sure the soilis as loose and finely textured aspossible. About two or three weeksbefore planting, till the garden two orthree times. Then, till once morebefore planting.

When preparing the soil, till afresh path on each pass rather thanoverlapping. This gives the wheelsmaximum traction on undisturbedsoil. See Figure 3-15. Dig as deeplyas possible on each pass withoutoverloading the engine. Later pass-es can be overlapped. After goingup and down the rows in one direc-tion, make a second pass at a rightangle across your earlier rows, SeeFigure 3-16. In very hard ground, additional passes may be needed.

Don't till when the soil is too wet. This produces large clumps whichlater dry out and become hard. If thesoil compresses easily into a ball, itis still too wet to be tilled.

Cultivating

When planning your garden, keepin mind that the tiller has a tillingwidth of approximately 14". Allow atleast this width between rows in yourgarden-- plus additional width forplant growth. Take into account thatbushy plants like beans and toma-toes need more width.

When cultivating, use a shallowDepth Regulator Lever setting. Donot cultivate deeper than 1"-or-2".Shallow cultivating keeps weedgrowth to a minimum and doesn'tdamage plant roots.

For best results, begin cultivatingas soon as seedlings appear, andthen cultivate as often as once aweek. The day after a light rain is anexcellent time to cultivate, as long asthe plants are dry. Avoid working inthe garden when plants are wet.Diseases, blight, and rust can beeasily spread among wet plants withyour hands, clothing or even thetiller.

AvoidMakingFootprintsWhen tilling, always try to walkalongside the tiller on the side that isyet to be tilled. This prevents re-planting weed seeds and leaves anicer appearance.

Preventing Tines From

BecomingTangled

...When tilling, you may find that thetines.become tangled with material(tall vegetation, long grass, toughvines, etc.).

WARNINGBefore removing any debrisfromthe tines, stopthe engine, allow it to cool, disconnectthespark plug wire and move itawayfrom the sparkplug.

Failure to do so could result in

personal injury or propertydamage.

Tohelp preventtangling:

1. While tilling, swing the handle-bars from side-to-side about 6"-to-12". This "fishtailing" action will oftendislodge any debris.

2. Always use the deepest DepthRegulator Lever setting possible(without making the tiller jump orbuck upward).

3. "1311under cover crops and cropresidues while they are still green.

'4. Shred or chop up any tall, tough,or stringy organic matter before till-ing it into the soil.

5. You may have to mow or cut veg-etation before power composting.

6. If the tines are heavily tangled, stop the engine and disconnect thespark plug wire. Then, cut away anydebris.

Tilligg.,onSlopes

Plant your garden preferably onflat ground, but certainly on no morethan a moderate slope. Do not oper-ate the tiller on a slope that is toosteep for safe operation.

Plant garden rows vertically on aslope (up and down the slope). Thislets you use the entire area for aseedbed and leaves enough roombetween the rows for cultivation. You lose these benefits if you gardenon areas styled like terraces.

OPERATION

WARNINGDo not operatethe tiller on aslope too steep for safe oper-ation, Till slowly and be surethat you have goodfooting.

Failure to do so could resultin personal injury or propertydamage.

If you put enough organic materialinto the soil to improve its water-holding capabilities, you should nothave a problem with soil erosion.

NOTE: On a slope, the oil level inthe tiller engine slants toward thedownhill side of the engine. Someinternal parts may not get enoughoil. To prevent this, make sure thatthe engine oil level is full to the pointof overflowing from the oil checktube before starting to till. Alsocheck the oil level every thirty min-utes while you're tilling on a slope.

Tiller Loadingand Unloading

• Shut the tiller engine off beforeloading or unloading. Let enginecool, disconnect spark plug wire andprevent wire from touching the plug.

• The tiller is too heavy (over 115Ibs.) to be safely lifted by one per-son. If you do lift the tiller, two ormore people should share the load.

• We recommend that you use stur-dy ramps and that you manually rollthe tiller into or out of the vehicle(tiller engine must be off). This re-quires the assistance of another.

• Ramps should be strong enoughto support the tiller and those movingit. The ramps shouLd provide goodtraction and have side rails to guidethe tiller up and down; they shouldhave a locking device to securethem to the vehicle bed.

• The operator and handlers shouldwear sturdy footwear that grips well.

• Position the vehicle so the rampangle is as flat as possible. Turn thevehicle engine off and apply the ve-hicle parking brake.

CAUTIONLoadingand unloadingatillerinto or from a vehicle is po-tentially hazardous. We.do,notrecommendthat youdosounless absolutely necessarybecause this could result inpersonal injury or propertydamage.

If loading or unloading mustbe undertaken, use the fol-lowing guidelines to assistyou,

• When going UP ramps, stand inthe normal operating position andpush the tiller ahead of you. Positiona person at each wheel to help.

• When going DOWN ramps, care-fully walk backward down the rampswith the tiller following you. Positiona person at each wheel to control thespeed of the tiller.

• Have wood blocks handy to placeon the downhill sides of the wheels ifyou need to stop the tiller from rollingdown the ramps. Use the blocks totemporarily keep the tiller in place onthe ramps while you get a firmer gripon the handlebars, etc. Also useblocks to keep the wheels in placeafter tying down the tiller.

• After positioning the tiller in thevehicle, be sure both wheels are en-gaged in the WHEEL DRIVE positionto prevent the tiller from moving. Then securely tie down the tiller.

Some adjustments will need to bemade periodically to properly main-tain your machine.

Keep the air filters clean and changethe spark plug annually. A clean airfilter system and new spark plug helpthe engine run better and last longer.

Refer to Figure 4-1 and Figure 4-2 forlubrication points on your tiller.

Use common lubricating oil (#30weight motor oil is acceptable) at theoil points. Use a good quality grease(preferably with a metal lubricant ad-ditive) at the grease points.

1. Wheel ShaftRemove the wheels and use a cleanrag to wipe off old grease from thewheel shaft ("1", Figure 4-1). Inspectthe shaft and use fine sandpaper toremove any rust or burrs. Apply new

Regular,MaintenanceBecause the tiller is operated in thegarden, frequently under hot anddirty conditions, regular maintenanceis very important to ensure that youare getting proper performance fromyour tiller. There are several mainte-nance procedures that will hetp keepyour tiller in good operating condition:

• ,. Change engine oil regularly.• 'Lubricate the controls when needed.

• Keep the correct tension on theforward drive belt.

• Replace the engine air cleanerelement when dirty.

• Keep engine cooling fins clean. Figure 4-1: Tiller lubricaUon points.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Checkingfor OilLeaks

Regularly check your tiller for oilleaks from the engine and thetransmission. Slight seepage is nocause for major concern. How-ever, if your tiller is losing a lot ofoil, do not use it until it's repaired.

Inspect the area where you parkyour tiller for stains on the floorwhich would indicate a leak. If youfind a leak, first tighten any bolts orscrews which may have loosenedup.

If you are unsure how much oilhas been lost from the tiller, checkthe oil levels before operation. Also, when operating your tiller, frequently check the oil levels to besure that engine oil and transmis-sion gear oil levels don't becometoo low for safe operation.

If you have further problemswith oil leaks, contact your SearsService Center for assistance.

Air Cleaner Maintenance

Your tiller's engine is equippedwith a replaceable dry paper filter.Replace this filter every 30 operat-ing hours or at least once a year, and even more frequently underdusty or dirty operating conditions.

Do not attempt to clean this fil-ter. Simply replace it when dirty.

To Remove Paper Air Filter:1. Loosen the two screws that se-cure the air cleaner cover to thebase of the air cleaner.

2. Slightly turn the cover counter-clockwise. Remove the cover andthe paper air filter.

To Change the Paper Air Filter:

1. Thoroughly clean the base ofthe air cleaner and the inside ofthe air cleaner cover.

2. Place the new paper filter in thecover.

3. Place the cover (with filter in-side it) on the base of the aircleaner. Align the two screw holesin the cover with the two screws inthe base of the air cleaner. Referto Figure 4-9.

4. Turn the cover slightly clock-wise and tighten the two screws.

EngineCoolingSystemMaintenance

Frequently inspect the enginecooling fins, shrouds, and throttlelinkage for a build-up of dirt, driedweeds, grease, etc.

Always keep these areas freefrom debris to keep air currentsflowing freely. See arrows in Fig-ure 4-10. :

Figure 4-10: Keep these areas freeof debris.

Engine Ignition SystemMaintenance

Your tiller's engine has a de-pendable, maintenance-free elec-tronic ignition system. The systemhas no condenser or points. Thismeans you do not have to tune upthe engine. The only ignition sys-tem maintenance required is peri-odic changing of the spark plug.(See the following spark plug in-structions.)

SparkPlugMaintenance

Check the spark plug at the be-ginning or the end of each season,or every 30 operating hours.

Clean the area around the sparkplug hole before removing thespark plug.

1. Stop the engine, and wait for allmoving parts to stop completely.

2. Disconnect the spark plug wirefrom the spark plug.

3. Use a 13/16" spark plug socketto remove the spark plug. Theplug may be cleaned (do not sand-blast or wire-brush it), and the gapset at .030" or a new spark plugmay be used instead.

4. Install a new plug if the oldplug's electrodes are pitted orburned or if the porcelain iscracked. For replacement useChampion RJ-17LM only.

NOTE: A resistor spark plug mustbe used for replacement.

Carburetor Adjustments

Your carburetor has been pre-set for best tiller performance. Ifyour carburetor may need adjust-ment, contact your nearest SearsService Center.

SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS

WARNINGStop the engine, allow it tocool, disconnectthe spark plugwire and prevent it from touch-ing the spark plug before tight-ening any bolts, screws, ornuts.

Failure to do so couldresult inpersonal injury or propertydamage.

TighteningTiller Hardware

After the first two hours of tiller oper-ation, check all fasteners (nuts, bolts, screws, pins, etc.) and tightenany that may have loosened. Afterthis initial check, check those samefasteners after every ten hours oftiller operation.

Most of the fasteners on your tillerare in plain view. However, the fol-lowing ones are not readily visible.Be sure to check them for tightnessas well.

1. Rear End Cap Bolts- Thesethree bolts are located at the rearend of the tiller transmission. Theysecure the rear cap and the anti-re-verse stake. Lift up the hood flap toview this hardware.

2. Transmission Housing CoverBolts- These four bolts are locatedon the top of the rear end of the tillertransmission. You see them whenyou lift the hood flap.

Tines

As you use your tiller, the tineswill gradually wear. They will be--come shorter, narrower and pointed, decreasing their ability to till effeC-tively. Check the tines for wear sev-eral times a season, and replacebadly worn tines to restore the tiller'seffectiveness.

NOTE: You must first remove thetiller hood before removing either asingle tine holder or individualtines.Remove the two screws at the frontof the hood and the two screws atthe rear of the hood and liftoff thehood. Be sure to replace the hoodsecurely after changing tines or tineholders.

' STORAGE

Tiller Storage

Whenever you don't intend to useyour tiller for 30 days or longer, youshould perform the following steps toensure that it will start easily andperform properly when removedfrom storage.

• Thoroughly clean the machine.

• Be sure that all nuts, bolts andscrews are securely fastened. In-spect parts for damage, breakageor wear. Replace as necessary.

• Touch up all rusted or chippedpaint surfaces. Sand lightly beforerepainting.

• If possible, store your unit indoorsand cover it with a suitable protec-tive cover (not plastic) that doesnot retain moisture.

IMPORTANT: Never cover the unitwhile the engine and exhaust areasare still warm.

• Do not store gasoline from oneseason to another.

• Replace your gasoline can if itstarts to rust. Rust and/or dirt in yourgasoline will cause problems.

Engine Storage

Fuel System

IMPORTANT: It is important to pre-vent gum deposits from forming inessential fuel system parts such ascarburetor, fuel filter, fuel hose, ortank during storage. Also, experi-ence indicates that alcohol blendedfuels (called gasohol or usingethanol or methanol) can attractmoisture which leads to separationand formation of acids dudng stor-age. Acidic gas can damage the fuelsystem of an engine while instorage.

• Drain the fuel tank.

• Start the engine and let it run untilthe fuel lines and carburetor areempty.

• Never use engine or carburetorcleaner products in the fuel tank orpermanent damage may occur.

• Use fresh fuel next season.

DANGERGasolineishighlyflammableanditsvaporsare explosive. Followthesesafetypracticesto preventinjuryor propertydamagefromfire orexplosion.

• Let engineandmufflercool at least2 minutes beforedrainingfueltank.

• Donot allow openflames, sparks, or matches,or permit smokingin fuel-ing area.

• Wipe upspills andpushthe tiller away fromspilled fuel.

• Use onlyan approvedfuel containerandstore it safely from children.-

. Do not store gasoline in an area where its vaporscould reach an openflame or spark, or where ignition sourcesare near (suchas hotwater andspace heaters, furnaces, clothesdryers, stoves, motors, etc.)

NOTE: If "Gasohol" has been used, run engine until the tank is empty. Then put 1/2 pint of "Unleaded" reg-ular gasoline into the fuel tank andagain run the engine until tank isempty.

NOTE: Fuel stabilizer (such asCraftsman Fuel Stabilizer No.335500) is an acceptable alternativein minimizing the formation of fuelgum deposits during storage. Addstabilizer to gasoline in fuel tank orstorage container. Always follow themix ratio and instructions on the sta-bilizer container. Run engine at least10 minutes after adding stabilizer toallow the stabilizer to reach the car-buretor. Do not drain the gas tankand carburetor if using fuel stabilizer.

EngineOil

Drain oil and replace with clean en-gine oil. See "Engine Lubrication" inthe CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILI-TIES section.

EngineCylinder

• Remove spark plug. Squirt one (1)oz. (30ml) of clean engine oil intospark plug hole.

• Cover spark plug hole with a cleanrag.
