2015 2016 Issue 07 February 2016 Upcoming Chapter Events President’s Message Our all-day seminar on March 22 nd , the 4th Tuesday of the month, is Critical Thinking: An Essential Skill for Internal Auditor Success presented by Phil Flora. Phil is a professional speaker who has presented a variety of topics to the IIA and chapters. The all-day seminar offering 8 CPE hours is $160 for members and $210 for non-members. You can register and pay now by going to our website. The location is Malone’s Banquets which is above Sal’s Chophouse on Tates Creek in Lexington. Registration and the continental breakfast begins at 8am. A menu of several entrees will be available in the morning to order lunch. The afternoon ends by 4:30 and includes a break. This is a great bargain at $20 per CPE with a great speaker at a nice location and fine food - no travel costs. See attached flyer. We need to hold an election of officers and board members in March so plans can be made for the leadership conference. The Board has in the past sent and paid the airfare, hotel, and other travel expenses for two officers to the IIA’s leadership conference at Walt Disney World’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. The conference will be April 24–26, 2016. The IIA is quite experienced and has developed practices and tools to make the running a chapter manageable. Our Board including officers is a great source of advice and oversight. Over the years our Chapter has been well managed and is financially sound, so I believe our success will continue for the foreseeable future. If you have been considering serving your profession and enhancing your professional experience, now is the perfect time. I would encourage you to consider being an officer or a board member. Please contact me if you would like to know more about the officers or board roles. I hope you come to our events and get an early start on your CPE for 2016. Thanks for supporting your Chapter. We need to hold an election of officers and board members in March so plans can be made for

the leadership conference. The Board has in the past sent and paid the airfare, hotel, and

Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. The conference will be April 24–26, 2016.

The IIA is quite experienced and has developed practices and tools to make the running a

chapter manageable. Our Board including officers is a great source of advice and oversight.

Over the years our Chapter has been well managed and is financially sound, so I believe our

success will continue for the foreseeable future.
