The IIA is Committed to Promoting the
Internal Audit Profession to the Next
Generation.
There are two IIA programs that support internal audit education in colleges and universities worldwide.
• The Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) program endorses schools teaching an internal auditing curriculum within a degree program (undergraduate or post-graduate).
• The Internal Audit Academic Awareness Program to recognize the various degrees of commitment and effort universities are making to provide students with the information and skill sets necessary to be able to choose from a variety of career paths.

• Oversee fundraising activities
• Review/approve/deny grant proposals from IAEP schools
• Review interim and final grant reports from IAEP schools

Chapter Relations Activities Maturity Levels
Advanced Academic Relations Chapter
Activities:
•The items listed above in basic and intermediate levels, plus the following:
•Develop Summer Leadership Programs for the major schools that have an interest in IA as a career
•Select students participate in research projects, simulations, company visitations, peer outreach and presentations to board
•Develop a mentorship program, where an ARC and/or chapter members team up with students for mentoring and counselling
•Appointing students to Chapter Boards
•Develop IA Case competitions, where prizes/scholarships can be awarded
•Develop and support an IIA student chapter supported by University
•Develop an endowment for the university
Intermediate Academic Relations Chapter
Activities:
•The items listed in the basic level plus the following:
• Assign an ARC or Chapter member as a liaison to work with each school. This can be an alum of the particular school, or simply an active IIA Chapter member
• Have the assigned liaison ARC or Chapter member work with each school, to set up guest lecture programs (regularly) where they can visit the school accounting or other business classes to discuss IA as a career option
• Sponsoring student memberships ($35 per student)
• Providing students free admission to events and chapter meetings
• Professor involvement in Chapter- i.e. Board position
• Have an approved IAEP program at a university
• Host a student night about internal audit careers/skill development
• Provide internships to students
• Support an IAEP university by donating restricted funds for that university to the IAAAF
Basic Academic Relations Chapter
Activities:
•Elect a Chapter Academic Relations Committee (ARC) Chair
•Form an Academic Relations Committee made up of several interested chapter members
• Identify Local Colleges/Universities who offer Accounting and Related Program majors
•Reach out to each school to identify potential school contacts who can be used to help promote student awareness of IA as a career
•Share with each school some of the IIA AR materials that are available to Chapters from IIA HQ
•Present to universities the value of teaching internal audit and adopting The IIA's The IIA Global Model Internal Audit Curriculum
•Participate in BAP or Accounting Society's Meet the Firms night
•Provide scholarships for students
