Guaranteed depth = safety = lower costs, better and more modern vessels

Fixture of transport prices is very stable, being independent of river waterlevels in rain

seasons

Better prices for producers because spending less in transport and at better price

levels

Impressive private investment in infrastructure (multi billion)

Crushing factories (largest capacity of the world)

Grain Loading terminals

Investment in riverbarges and adapted terminals

Expansion of economical feasible area for agriculture production

Capture of more goods transported from upriver (up to Brasil)

BUT:

Need for a strong and stable legal regulation !

Toll system is not always feasible if in competition with other subsidized systems
