Description:
• “I’ve Got the Power” is a “floor vs. floor” competition
• Grand Prize is winner’s choice worth up to $5,000
• Overall Challenge goal – to reduce energy usage by 20%
What Is The Energy Challenge?
Energy Champs Training
Did you know?• U.S. generates 20% of global GHG emissions
• U.S. population is 5% of world population
• More than 5 million commercial and industrial buildings in U.S.
• Energy use in buildings is responsible for about 45% of U.S. GHG emissions
• On average, the energy used daily by one office worker results in twice the GHG emissions as the worker’s round-trip commute
• Annual energy cost in U.S. is $202.3 billion
• As much as 30% of energy is wasted
• Reducing energy saves money, cuts GHG emissions
– If energy usage was reduced by10% in US, it would save $20 billion

• Perform evening “Mystery Sweeps”
• Unplug shared devices at the end of the day
• Recognize outstanding floor mates
• Write an article for Planet L’Oréal
• Celebrate successes!
