“Many are invited, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22: 14 Weddings are important celebrations in our lives because they celebrate the coming to-gether of two people into a new home. Where they form a new family as a result of the union that they have entered. A wedding is where guest are invited to celebrate in the joy of the cere-mony. Invitations are sent to those individuals, rela-tives, friends and others who are close the family. Which may be a large number of people, but out of that large number only a few will respond or attend the celebration. Some guest may be last minute ad-ditions because those who were chosen will not at-tend. Jesus presents us with another parable of a wedding given by the Master for his son and invites guests to the wedding, but they do not attend. Out of anger, he destroys them and invites others who are judged and found worthy to attend. The lesson of this parable is how do we except the word of the Lord in our lives. We are invited to the banquet feast of the Lord because of our faith in Him. All of us have been invited and it is up to us to accept or reject that invitation. Faith is a gift from God and it depends on us to accept that invitation to open that gift. We can decide to discard the gift without opening it. How does this parable affect us today in the 21st century? The parable is a future view of the heavenly banquet and we are all invited to attend. This is a hint at our eternal life and how we are working on that relationship now in our daily lives. And we have to see how do we respond to that invi-tation every day, in how we pray, act and love one another. If we accept that invitation, it does not gain us automatic acceptance to the celebration. We have to work hard at our faith and find the right garment to wear. All of us are invited to the banquet, but do we choose to not respond or not. One day all of us will be judged for our actions. Will we excluded from the heavenly banquet or not? God bless, Fr. Las bodas son celebraciones importantes en nuestras vidas porque celebran la reunión de dos personas en un nuevo hogar. Donde for-man una nueva familia como resultado de la unión en la que se han entregado. En una boda

estamos invitados a celebrar en la alegría de la cere-monia. Las invitaciones se envían a aquellas perso-nas, familiares, amigos y otros que están cerca de la familia, que puede ser un gran número de personas, pero de ese gran número sólo unos pocos responderá o asistirá a la celebración. Algunos invitados pueden ser adiciones de último minuto porque los que fueron elegidos no asistirán. Jesús nos presenta otra parábola de una boda da-da por el Maestro para su hijo e invita a familiares y amigos a la boda, pero no asisten. De ira, los destru-ye e invita a otros que son juzgados y hallados dig-nos de asistir. La lección de esta parábola es cómo podemos nosotros aceptar la palabra del Señor en nuestras vi-das. Estamos invitados a la fiesta del banquete del Señor por causa de nuestra fe en Él. Todos hemos sido invitados y depende de nosotros aceptar o re-chazar esa invitación. La fe es un don de Dios y so-mos nosotros quienes decidimos a aceptar o rechazar la invitación para recibir ese don. Podemos decidir descartar el regalo sin abrirlo. ¿Cómo nos afecta hoy esta parábola en el siglo XXI? La parábola es una visión futura del banquete celestial y todos estamos invitados a asistir. Esto es una indirecta en nuestra vida eterna y cómo estamos trabajando en esa relación ahora en nuestras vidas diarias. Y tenemos que ver cómo respondemos a esa invitación todos los días, en cómo oramos, actuamos y nos amamos unos a otros. Si aceptamos esa invita-ción, no nos gana la aceptación automática de la ce-lebración. Tenemos que trabajar duro en nuestra fe y encontrar la ropa adecuada para usar. Todos estamos invitados al banquete, pero elegi-mos no responder o no. Un día todo nosotros sere-mos juzgados por nuestras acciones. ¿Se nos excluirá del banquete celestial o no? Dios bendiga, Fr.
