First we’d like to welcome you to NBIS IGCSE. We realize how important it is to be confident that your child is not only actively learning, but also happy and safe. We can assure you that as a team at NBIS, we will do everything we can to provide that safe, happy and nurturing environment to make sure your child's years at IGCSE is positively memorable.

In Nefertari IGCSE, we firmly believe in the importance of the in-tegration between the 3 major pillars of educational; Administration, Teachers, and Students. Each factor of those has its role to play in enhancing the educational cycle. Ad-ministration creates the ideal atmosphere for the other two fac-tors.

An excellent staff of educators and professional advisors have been chosen for the administration department, they will take over the responsibility of bringing up a knowledgeable generation providing them with all the help they might need to heavily arm them with the proper arsenal of both science and attitude in order for them to confidently face the challenges of the modern society.

I n order for an international school to become a member in the CIS, it must go through a strict Inspection process which finally proves that the quality of education offered, satisfactorily meets the international standards. Last year, NBIS & NAIS went through this strict inspection. Mr. Christopher Maggio, CIS SSEO, left no stone unturned by visiting classrooms, holding discussions with parents, students, staff members, administrators and the school leadership team to make sure that the school is highly effective in meeting the goals of its guiding statements (mission and vision). On 10th December, 2015, NBIS received an outstanding report from the CIS which emphatically stated that NBIS is an exceptional school.

Throughout the year our team will focus on enhancing our core school values –

Resilience, Empathy, Self Belief, Perseverance,

Excellence, Community and Tolerance.

We want to have an established positive classroom culture. Throughout the year, Our Team will be focusing on establishing routines, as they need to spend time getting the School culture and environment right for learning. We would also like parents to talk to the students about how important it is to keep their image wherever they are. Students are not allowed to use foul language among themselves even on private chat groups. This will subject them to severe punishment by the school.

Keep us updated to update you!!!

All parents are encouraged to inform the school about any changes in residency, contact numbers, e-mails or the medical condition of the student. K indly visit the NIS website to print out the “Contact Information Form” or the “Health Form”, fill it in and send it to the class administration contact person. It is important that you should provide the school with an active e-mail address and must be checked regularly

SEPT. 2017

The 2017-2018 school calendar will be sent by e-mail to parents Make sure that there is no travelling or family holidays are planned during school days!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE understand that changes take place be-cause of out of our hands circumstances.

In case a parent needs to pick up his/ her child (who rides the bus), please send a written note with the your child in the morning. Otherwise, the student will ride the bus at the end of the school day.

GOING HOME GATE

The majority of our students have a very good attendance rec-ord, with MANY students managing to attain a full attendance record. Unfortunately there were students whose attendance was poor last year.

Students regular attendance has to be a priority as this is crucial to their realiz-

ing their full potential in their education.

According to Cambridge regulations, in case a student’s absence

exceeded 5 times for the same subject, this will result in dropping the

subject automatically. Page 3

Needless to say of course, an IGCSE student must be culturally diverse, and we try our utmost best to realize this through educational exchange programs with a variety of European countries... Only learners showing the best promise are selected for the program, so make sure you keep up the hard work!!

We also aid our students in selecting the most tailored university for the requirements of their future, by organizing visits to various Universities' campuses such as: AUC, BUE, GUC, MIU and Zewail University while arranging a complete detailed tour of the universi-ty's facilities with the campus's administration. Bearing in mind that IGCSE students have the entire world spreading its arms widely for them, hence, we try bringing the world to them.

And no... We haven't forgotten about the lighter more colorful side of the "operation"... As a school, NBIS along with its IGCSE department have always set the trend for schools who are in an ever-growing pursuit of delivering a superior overall educational experience, which is not only joyful but also filled with unmatched amounts of valuable knowledge; scientific field trips, sports events and countless other trip destinations are our mode of feeding their sense of exploration as well as giving them a chance to know their homeland, or perhaps the rest of the planet, a little bit more thoroughly.

Last but by no means the least, we constantly thrive to see our students unleash their man-agerial instincts by giving them free rein in organizing their own events via building their own logistics team in addition to helping in managing every school event that might be held throughout the year.

Parents & Students MUST start a healthy online diet. Parents must intervene to stop their children overusing social media and consuming time online “like junk food”. Parents should “step up” and be proactive in stopping their children from bingeing on the internet and must regulate their children’s internet use Kids will have grown up with that being the normality. We want students to feel informed, confident and empowered, and have the confidence to say, ‘no, I’m not going to do that’. That same confidence we want for children, we want for parents, too.”

Parents must check that their children’s privacy level is set on the strictest level

Monitor your child’s internet usage

Create ground rules

Know the kinds of sites the child is frequenting and the people they are associating with.

Monitor the pictures your child posts online

Be a good example of how to use social media

Teach kids about an online reputation

Talk to kids about online dangers Read the full article online at http://www.parenting.com/gallery/social-media-monitoring-kids?page=13
