University Symbols
Standard
Hymn (March of Oilmen)

Energy security of Ukraine
The University initiates the development of different state-run programs and carries out
activities aimed at increasing country’s energy security. On June 26, 2014 there was held a
roundtable “On ensuring reliable and efficient gas supply to consumers in Ukraine and Europe in
terms of a reformation of the gas transport system“ at the National Academy of Sciences of
Ukraine. The roundtable was chaired by rector of IFNTUOG, corresponding member of NASU,
Prof. Yevstakhii Kryzhanivskyi. Prominent scholars, practitioners and experts took part in the
roundtable. The participants of the roundtable adopted a resolution which provides speedy
reorganization and reformation of the gas sector of Ukraine in accordance with the European
legislation on energy.

Technical University of Oil and Gas has
signed an agreement with the International
Foundation for Social Adaptation on university
involvement in the project "Ukraine-Norway" .
The project is aimed at removing the tension among the officers that appeared
due to mass layoff in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and assisting in social
adaptation of the officers and their family members to the civil life conditions.
The project is funded by the Norwegian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project
partner from Norway is University of
Nordland (City of Bodø).
Scientific and technical library
The Library Service promotes the quality of learning, teaching, research and
training at the University. Annually it serves 30 thousand readers who are
provided with more than a million copies of learning materials.
Its fund contains 1.23 million copies, and electronic catalog includes over 224
thousand bibliographical descriptions of books, brochures and articles from
different periodicals.
The national library and informational system "UFD / Library" provides
automation of library operations. Moreover, the library network has several
dozens of computerized workplaces and is connected to the Internet.
The library’s collection comprises more than 3 000 copies of rare editions the
value of which can scarcely be exaggerated.
Publishing
The University holds its own
publishing house that meets printing
needs of the University. It publishes six
academic journals.
Annually, 110-150 issues of
teaching guides, practical guides, and
curricula with a total circulation of 5.5 –
6.1 thousand copies are published. 70%
of them are stored in the library fund.
40-45 issues of manuals, textbooks,
lecture books are published with a total
circulation of 2.0 thousand copies; 15-20
of them are recommended by the
Ministry of Education and Science of
Ukraine.
Geological Museum
Geological Museum founded in 1973 is one of the best in Europe due to the variety
of collections of minerals and rocks.
For more than 135 years over 15 thousand exhibits have been collected from all
over the world. Some items were purchased at exhibitions, during different
expeditions and from private sellers in Bonn, Paris, Prague, Vienna, New York,
Geneva, Philadelphia.
Its high status was confirmed by recognizing the Museum’s mineralogical collection
National Property Object that is part of entry files of the State Register (Decree of
the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №1103-Р of December 15, 2007).
Innovation Exhibition Complex (IEC)
Innovation Exhibition Complex (IEC) having the area of over 1,000 square meters was
built with the assistance of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and dedicated to the 40th
anniversary of the University. Its aim is to demonstrate the achievements of enterprises and
organizations of the petroleum industry of Ukraine as well as the pilot projects of the
university’s scientists.
This Complex helps to implement pilot projects and begin new ones by making contacts
with new business and academic partners from different regions of the country.
University History Museum
University History Museum, renewed in 2007, covers the area of 250 sq.m.This Museum
contains old and modern exhibits. The most valuable are those of scientific and
educational nature such as personal things of famous scientists in oil and gas industry,
who worked at the university.
A special place in the Museum is given to the history of oil and gas production, stages of
petroleum education development in Ukraine, originated in Galicia. It holds materials
related to the establishment of university, chronicles of schools and departments,
photographs, paintings, souvenirs and other gifts from around the world. The museum
contains approximately 1,500 exhibits. It is visited annually by 5 thousand students,
faculty staff and guests.
