The Institution of Fire Engineers

Founded in 1918, the IFE is a nonprofit making professional body with a rapidly growing membership of over 10,000 and a global reach that extends through 41 branches around the world. We are the only Institution that provides Professional Designations

for fire engineering. Licensed by the Engineering Council, the IFE upholds professional standards within all public and private fire sectors by offering assessment of knowledge,

experience and development and engages with major stakeholders to offer international conferences, identify and promote good practice

and enhance technical networks worldwide.

IFE Canada Branch (previously known as Ontario Branch) was inaugurated on June 1, 1994 by the International President at the then Fire Fighters Club in Markham Ontario. Over the years we have expanded our membership base and we now have members in every province of Canada. Our objective; To encourage and improve the science and practice of Fire Extinction, Fire Prevention, Emergency Management, Life Safety, Fire

Engineering and all operations and expedients connected therewith, and to give an impulse to ideas likely to be useful in connection with or in relation to such science

and practice to the members of the Institution and to the community at large.

Greater Toronto Security Partners Forum (GTASPF)

The Greater Toronto Area Security Partners’ Forum (GTASPF) is an agile network of various security-related associations, educators, and seasoned

professionals within the security, business continuity, emergency management, risk management, fire & life safety, critical infrastructure

protection, defence, and intelligence industries.

The GTA Security Partners’ Forum is one of several similar forums across Canada and is encompassed within the Canadian Security Partners’ Forum

(CSPF). The forums were developed to close the gap and provide a framework where all security-related associations and other stakeholders can increase

networking, interaction and knowledge sharing.

International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety

(IAHSS)

The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety, or IAHSS for short, is the only organization solely dedicated to professionals involved in

managing and directing security and safety programs in healthcare institutions. IAHSS is comprised of security, law enforcement and safety individuals

dedicated to the protection of healthcare facilities worldwide. IAHSS strives to combine public safety officer training with staff training, policies and technology

to achieve the most secure hospital environments possible. Additionally, the IAHSS partners with government agencies and other organizations representing

risk managers, emergency managers, engineers, architects, nurses, doctors and other healthcare stakeholders to further patient security and safety.
