And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,

for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

If You Could See Me Now by Patsy Stambaugh Deskins

If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear. Though you may not understand why I’m no longer here.

Remember my spirit, that’s the real me. I'm still very much alive, oh, if you could only see!

I’ve beheld our Father's face. I've touched my Savior's hand. The angels all rejoiced as I entered the Promised Land.

Beyond the gates of pearl, I walk on golden streets, I've touched the walls of jasper, dipped my foot in the crystal sea.

The beauty is beyond words, nothing can compare. I've even seen your mansion; someday, I'll meet you there.

Allow Jesus to be your guide, His Word will show you the way. So, please, don't cry! We will meet again someday!

The Cross Author Unknown

A symbol of my faith that strengthens me each day As I by God’s grace walk the narrow way.

You see God’s own Son He gave His life for me And took my debt of sin to a place called Calvary.

I owe Him my life and all I’ll ever be All He asks is that I’ll let Him live through me.

So I run the race empowered by His grace And give Him all the glory as I look into His face.

JESUS is LORD!

Joey Enriquez was born February 6, 1974 in Los Angeles, California to Anita and George Enriquez. When he was eight weeks old, he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. At that time, the life expectancy was twelve years. Early on he was pretty healthy except for a few surgeries for Cystic Fibrosis related complications.

Joey attended St. Augustine Catholic School in Culver City from kindergarten to eighth grade. When he was about nine or ten, he started to attend Victory Outreach Church with his father and his sister, Christina. It was there where God started a work, not just in his family’s life, but ultimately Joey would be the tool that was used to bring Lourdes to Christ.

Joey met his soulmate, Lourdes, in their sophomore year in their history class in 1989. They did everything together. They attended the prom and graduated together in 1992. During his teenage years Joey was able to work for Trader Joe’s and always excelled which led to various promotions.

Finally, on April 29, 1995 he would marry his bride, Lourdes Garcia. Joey and Lourdes moved to Torrance, and had furry kids, and have lived on the same property all 23 years of their marriage. Although they had a LOT of trials and tribulations, Joey always trusted in the LORD and HIS hand of mercy.

In 2003 Joey came to know the Sovereignty of the LORD. It was more than just freedom he and Lourdes experienced; knowing that all we do is contribute sin to our salvation, changed his life completely. He now knew salvation was the gift and work of the LORD alone. It was here where he basked in his walk with the LORD. This would be especially so because of his constant medical struggles.

In early 2009 his health diminished and it looked as if the LORD was going to take him home, but then preserved his life by way of a double lung transplant on April 3, 2009 but not without struggles. Now with his new lungs, he kept to his promise that he would do everything in his power to use them and do all the things he couldn’t do before. He committed to participate in the annual Donate Life Run/Walk-a-thon and even did so this year while sick. Shortly after going home with his new lungs, Joey started to regularly go to the gym and changed his eating habits. He not only was working out 5-6 days out of the week but was able to complete Insanity three times and P90x two times. Those are extremely difficult to complete all the way; and he did so multiple times.

In February of 2014 Joey started Photopheresis to help him when he was diagnosed with chronic rejection. Complications and hospitalizations began to increase, and after a not so brief hospitalization and surgery, Joey went to be with the LORD on May 22, 2018, and he heard the words we all long to hear, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter in”. If he was here, he would tell you not to mourn but to rejoice because he is where he longed most to be; at the feet of Christ praising him for eternity and reunited with his sisters, Christina and Brittany, and other friends and family.
