If you are less than eighteen years old and travelling without the company of an

adult, in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Any person under the age of eighteen is considered to be a minor.

It is important for anyone travelling abroad to be well informed about their travel destination, including the possibilities for education and employment success upon arrival.

However, this is especially important for minors. Minors often encounter obstacles and dangers when travelling, and may be exposed to criminals wishing to exploit their inexperience. As such, minors are more susceptible to becoming victims of human trafficking.

If travelling unaccomanied by an adult, you ought to be aware of your rights and know whom to address for help in case you are in need of assistance.

It is important that you know that, under International Law:•Every minor has the right to an identityo you should carry a valid travel or identity document•Every minor has the right to a safe and healthy lifeo you have the right to access clean water, healthy food and a doctor if required!•Every minor has the right to educationo you have the right to go to school•Every minor has the right to be protected from harmful or exploitative labouro you should be protected from any form of harmful or exploitative labour! •Every minor has the right to be protected during war time•Every disabled minor has the right to special careo If you have special needs, you should be able to attend specialised education
