"And YHWH said to Mosheh , 'I am that which I am. [ehyeh asher ehyeh]' and

he said, 'so you will say to the sons of Y’isra’EL, "I am [ehyeh] has sent me to

you." 'and YHWH said further to Mosheh, 'now you are to say to the sons of

Y’isra’EL, "YHWH, elohey of your fathers Abraham, Yitzchak [Isaac], and

Yaa’qob [Jacob], has sent me to you. this is my name forever, and this is my

memorial for generation to generation." '

"Shemoth 6:3,"

'and I appeared to Abraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaa’qob as hashadday [the

almighty]. and my name, YHWH, was not well known (famous) to them.

Mattiyahu 19:16

And, hinnei, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I

do, that I may have eternal life?

One came : Shem-Tov, came bowing before him. Distinguished: or useful,

salutary, upright, honorable; the same term as "excellent" here. Master: Heb.

texts, rabbi. In Aramaic and Hebrew rab is a title meaning "great / great one"

and in the possessive form Rabi means "my great one“. Some who take the title

of Rabbi claim that other titles are just as conducive to inflating the ego. First of

all, "just as"? Are they admitting that Rabbi is a title that inflates the ego? But

other titles such as "Elder", which essentially means "old man", or "Pastor"

meaning "shepherd", do not really lend themselves to megalomania like Rabbi;

"the great one", do they? Since Yahu(ah)shua is not equal to all the other

Teachers, nor inferior to any, but rather the best and greatest of them all, he

alone deserves the title of my Great One, Rabbi.

Mattiyahu 19:17

And he said unto Him, Why callest thou Me tov? [There is] none tov but one,

[that is], EL: but if thou wilt enter into life of the world to come, keep the

commandments of EL.

Heb, Why do you ask about excellence (or distinguished things)? No man is

excellent; El is the one who is excellent. Want to: have in mind, intend to.

Now Unto you who say the commandments are done away with, you are

standing on precarious ground

In response to the young man's question about what good deed he needed to do

in order to be assured of eternal life, Yahu(ah)shua told him to keep YHWH

(Yahuah)'s Ten Commandments. Yahu(ah)shua then listed six of them, all

referring to relationships with others. When the young man replied that he had

kept the commandments, Yahu(ah)shua told him that he must do something

more—sell everything and give the money to the poor. Yahu(ah)shua' statement

Page 4: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

exposed the man's weakness. In reality, his wealth was his YHWH (Yahuah), his

idol, and he would not give it up. Thus, he violated the first and greatest

commandment

Shemot_20:3

Lo yihyeh lecha elohiym acherim al-panay.

Thou shalt have no other Elohiym (YHWH (Yahuah)s) before Me.

Other Elohiym: There are in one sense "YHWH (Yahuah)s" in the world--

powerful spiritual rulers placed over certain regions

1 Cor. 8:5

For though there be that are called YHWH (Yahuah)s, whether in heaven or in

earth, (as there be YHWH (Yahuah)s many, and masters many,)

Which, as long as they do not interfere with His purposes for Israel, have a

rightful place in keeping order among men.

Daniel 10:13ff

But the prince of the kingdom of Paras withstood me one and twenty days:

but, behold, Mika'el, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained

there with the kingim of Paras .

But for Y’Isra’EL there is a direct relationship. In My presence: literally, above

my face, or against My face. Today He might say, “Get them out of my face!”

This does not mean we may have lesser Elohiym elsewhere, hidden from Him!

Provision comes with a test: we must recognize that it is all from YHWH, no

matter how many intermediaries He may use. Nothing is to be between us and

His face, blocking it. Yet we must also strike the balance of honoring the vessels

He uses to deliver the provision, for He has honored them by choosing to use

them. There are many opinions in the world, and even supposedly-objective

news reporters still put their slant on everything, but ultimately there is only one

opinion that counts. There are many other authorities and legal systems, but His

words always have to take priority over them. If He says it is time to listen and

not talk, we have no judgment to make, so we do not need to have an opinion,

but just obey. His system of ruling is superior to any other; if the Torah says it, it

Page 5: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

is right. The Torah is the basis for all judgment in Y’Isra’EL, and it will

ultimately affect the whole world. But what can heal the world must be

established within Y’Isra’EL first. It is not our job now to make others put down

their idols until He is finished dealing with us, but we must “get into the

business” of anyone who has made a commitment to obey YHWH but is not

doing so. When we get our act together, the rest of the world will be repaired as

well. How will we fix the world if we refuse to take our own medicine?

Yahu(ah)shua acts as "kinsman redeemer" to bring those who left the covenant

back into relationship with YHWH, but does not take His place. In a special

sense, YHWH is called "Yaaqov's share".

Yirmeyahu 51:19,

The portion of Ya'akov [is] not like them; for he [is] the former of all things: and

[Y’Isra’EL is] the rod of His inheritance: YHWH Tza’vot [is] His Name.

Recall that this is a betrothal contract, of which human vows to "forsake all

others" are a picture. This is the preamble to the covenant, in which the

generalities are presented first, then the specifics. He had to be so possessive

because He knew Israel's tendencies to stray after other Elohiym. He had to "get

the upper hand" so that He would be free to do what was best for us. Israel is His

property, for He redeemed her from Pharaoh. (v. 2) Through Yahu(ah)shua, He

has paid for us again, so how much more are we His property to command as He

wishes? The term Elohiym really means "mighty ones"; we are not to consider

anything mighty to exist in relation to ourselves, except Him. What is a major

threat to others (such as the Reed Sea) is not a problem for Him, and is not to be

feared. It also emphasizes His judgment, and if He has rendered judgment on

something, we must not go looking for other opinions. It is no longer our option.

Our feelings are usually wrong, so we need to go by what He says alone, even if

our other judges (parents, employers, or governors) might tell us to do

otherwise. His provision (which includes His judgment) is better than anything

we will find elsewhere.

Mat_22:36-40.

Rabbi, which [is] the great commandment in the Torah?

Yahu(ah)shua ) said unto him, "Thou shalt love the YHWH thy Elohiym

with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second [is] like unto it, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

On these two commandments hang all the Torah and the Neviim.

Page 6: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

Pro_6:23

For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching a light, and reproofs of

instruction are the way of life:

Mattiyahu 19:18.

He said to him, "Which ones?" And Yahu(ah)shua [answer and] said, "'You will

not murder', 'You will not commit adultery', 'You will not steal', 'You will not

bear false testimony against your fellow [as an] injurious witness',

Mattiyahu 19:19.

"'Honor your father and your mother', and 'Be as committed to your fellow as

you are to yourself.'"

Notice that all the types of commands he mentions are toward our fellow human

being, not toward YHWH.

If we are not loving our neighbor as ourselves, we cannot dare to think we are

pleasing YHWH.

Mattiyahu 19:20.

The young man said to him, "I have observed these since my youth; what do I

still lack?"

Lack: or fall short in.

Mattiyahu 19:21.

So Yahu(ah)shua said to him, "If you intend to be complete, go, sell all that you

have and give to the poor, and you will have [a great store of] treasure in the

heavens, and come, follow me."

Complete: perfect, full-grown, mature, and consummate in integrity, finished,

lacking nothing necessary. I.e., to carry all these commandments through to their

fullest intention. He sets the bar for entering the Kingdom very high. The poor:

Not in an indiscriminate sense, since many are poor because they waste their

resources, especially on demon worship. He is speaking about one's neighbors--

which in Hebrew mean "those of the same flock". There are plenty of needy

Israelites around us, and though we should do what is beneficial to all as we can,

our highest priority must be YHWH's community.

Page 7: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

Galatians 6:10

This being the case, then, while we have time, let us do what is beneficial

toward everyone, but most of all toward them who belong to the household of

the faith.

While we have time: or, as we have a decisive opening, at the right moment.

Follow me: Yahu(ah)shua exemplified this principle better than anyone, having

not even a pillow to his name. (8:20)

Mattiyahu 19:22.

But, hearing the word, the young man went away troubled, because he had many

[inherited] possessions.

Troubled: pained, sorrowful; Greek, saddened, offended, made uneasy, affected

with scruples; Shem-Tov, angry because he did not have many lands.

Loukas 10:25

And, Hinei, a certain Torah Teacher stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master,

what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Loukas 10:26

He said unto him, what is written in the Torah? How readest thou?

Loukas 10:27

And he answering said, Thou shalt love YHWH thy Elohim with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy

neighbour as thyself.

Loukas 10:28

And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Yochanan12:50

And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak

therefore, even as Ha AVI said unto Me, so I speak.

Rev 22:14

Blessed [are] those who wash their kartans (robes), that they may have right to

the Etz ha Chayim, and may enter in through the she'arim (gates) into the city.

That they may have authority over the tree of life; an authority founded on right,

this right founded on obedience to the commandments of YHWH (Yahuah), and

Page 8: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

that obedience produced by the grace of YHWH (Yahuah) ( His Righteousness

within us, through the Ruakh HaQodesh) working in them. Without grace no

obedience; without obedience no authority to the tree of life; without authority

no right; without right no enjoyment:

We have no righteousness of our own, righteousness is written upon our hearts,

Tehillim_119:172

My tongue sings of Your word, For all Your commands are righteousness.

Yahu(ah)shua lived in the commandments of his father

Tehillim 119:137-138

Righteous are You, O YHWH , And Your right-rulings are straight.

You have commanded your witnesses In righteousness and truth, exceedingly.

Tehillim 19:7 -9

The Torah of is perfect, bringing back the being; The witness of is

trustworthy, making wise the simple; The orders of are straight, rejoicing

the heart; The command of is clear, enlightening the eyes; The fear of

is clean, standing forever; The right-rulings of are true, They are righteous

altogether,

When we think of instructions, decrees, and commandments, we often think of

rules that keep us from having fun. But here we see the opposite: YHWH

(Yahuah)'s laws revive us, make us wise, bring joy to the heart, give insight,

warn us, and reward us. YHWH (Yahuah)'s laws are guidelines and lights for

our path, rather than chains on our hands and feet. They point at danger to warn

us, and then point at success to guide us.

Expounding Tehillim 19:9 we begin to understand

The fear of the YHWH

yirah,

Page 9: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

from

yara,

to fear, to venerate;

often put for the whole of Divine worship.

The reverence we owe to the Supreme Being.

Is clean

Tehorah

From

tahar,

to be pure, clean; not differing much from

barah,

to be clean and bright as the heavens; as purified Silver. Its object is to purge

away all defilement, to make a spotless character.

Enduring forever

omedeth laad,

Standing up to Perpetuity.

The fear that prevents us from offending YHWH, that causes us to reverence

him, and is the beginning as it is the safeguard of wisdom, must be carried all

through life. No soul is safe for a moment without it. It prevents departure from

YHWH, and keeps that clean which YHWH has purified. This is Its use.

The judgments of YHWH (Yahuah)

Mishpatim,

from

shaphat,

he judged, regulated, disposed, All YHWH’s regulations, all his decisions; what

he has pronounced to be right and proper.

Are true

Emet

truth,

Page 10: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

From

am,

To support, confirm, make stable, and certain.

This is the character of YHWH’s judgments.

They shall all stand.

All dispensations in providence and grace confirm them; they are certain, and

have a fixed character.

And righteous altogether

They are not only according to truth; but they are righteous,

tsadeku,

they give to all their due.

They show what belongs to YHWH, to man, and to ourselves.

And hence the word altogether

yachdav,

equally,

is added;

or truth and righteousness united.

"The judgments of YHWH" are the same with "the word of YHWH (Yahuah)",

as appears from

Tehillim119:25;

My being has been clinging to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.

Dust you are and dust you will return too, but the Ruakh within is revived by

this righteousness impute within you, bring us to obedience of his

commandments, the Sabbath being the stumbling block for many,

And these seem to design that part of the word, which contains rules of YHWH's

judging and governing his people; or the laws, orders, and ordinances of

Yahu(ah)shua in his house, which his people should observe, and yield a

cheerful obedience to, he being their King, Judge, and Lawgiver: and these are

"true", or "truth" (g) itself; being wisely made, according to the truth of things,

and agreeable to the Sacredness and righteousness of YHWH (Yahuah), and so

righteous; not at all grievous, but easy, pleasant, and delightful, one and all of

them.

Page 11: If thou wilt enter into life of the world to come

Tehillim 119:1-8

Blessed are the perfect in the way, who walk in the Torah of (YHWH)

Blessed are those who observe His witnesses, who seek Him with all the heart!

Yea, they shall do no unrighteousness; they shall walk in His ways.

You have commanded us to guard your orders diligently.

Oh, that my ways were established to guard your laws!

Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all your commands.

I thank you with uprightness of heart, when I learn the right-rulings of Your

righteousness.

'YHWH be with you.' and they answered him, 'YHWH bless you.' "

Be not blind to the truth

And, hinnei, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that

Yahu(ah)shua passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O YHWH, [thou]

Ben David. And Yahu(ah)shua stood still, and called them, and said, What will

ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto Him, YHWH, that our eyes may be

opened. So Yahu(ah)shua had compassion [on them], and touched their eyes:

and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
