gsm

network

Every year thousands of people die because of earthquake occurs in a dangerous place or during a defenseless

sleep. Here’s a GSM-based seismic alert system that could warn before an earthquake strikes. Earthquakes strike

without warning. The resulting damage can be minimized and lives can be saved if people living in the

earthquake-prone area are already prepared to survive the strike. This requires a warning before strong ground

motion from the earthquake arrival. Such a warning system is possible because of energy wave released at the

epicenter of the earth quake travels slower than light. The warning signal from the earthquake epicenter can be

transmitted to different places using satellite communication network, fiber-optics network, pager service, Cell

phone services or a combination of these. The satellite-based network is ideal when an alert system has to cover

a large country like India. For earthquake-prone states like Gujarat, a seismic alert system using the global

system for mobile communication network spread throughout the state is proposed here. This system does not

try to find the epicenter or fault line caused by the earthquake. It simply monitors the earth vibrations and

generates alert signal when the level of earth vibrations crosses a threshold

In modern greenhouses, several measurement points are required to trace down the local climate parameters in

different parts of the big greenhouse to make the greenhouse automation system work properly. Cabling would

make the measurement system expensive and vulnerable. Moreover, the cabled measurement points are difficult

to relocate once they are installed. Thus, a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consisting of small-size wireless

sensor nodes equipped with radio and one or several sensors, is an attractive and cost-efficient option to build the

required measurement system

System

Based on

3G

Data acquisition plays an important role in the field of modern industry control. In many cases, remote data

should be transferred to monitor center which is far away from the manufacturing field. Traditional data

acquisition system by means of wires could not satisfy the requirements. With the rapid development

ofembedded system, wireless communication technology and 3G technology, the remote data acquisition system

which is based on embedded systems platforms and depend on 3G as wireless data transmit terminals, will be

used widely on industry. This paper presents a new data acquisition and analyzing system based on 3G

technology. In addition, this paper also expresses that the system based on 3G has many more advantages than

that based on GPRS technology. ARM embedded processor and SIM308 are used as the hardware platform in

this project. The result of the experiment shows that the system works well to data acquisition and wireless

transferring based on 3G, and has a reference value for remote diagnosis, remote monitoring and control

Design of a low cost autonomous vehicle based on neural network for navigation in unknown environments is

presented. The vehicle is equipped with four ultrasonic sensors for hurdle distance measurement, a wheel

encoder for measuring distance traveled, a compass for heading information, a GPS receiver for goal position

information, a GSM modem for changing destination place on run time and a nonvolatile RAM for storing

waypoint data; all interfaced to a low cost AT89C52 microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the

information acquired from the sensors and generates robot motion commands accordingly through neural

network. The neural network running inside the microcontroller is a multilayer feed-forward network with back-

propagation training algorithm. The network is trained offline with tangent-sigmoid as activation function for

neurons and is implemented in real time with piecewise linear approximation of tangent-sigmoid function.

Integration

for Enhancing

Public

Transportation

Management Services

This paper proposes and implements a solution for enhancing public transportation management services based

on GPS and GSM. The system consists of four modules: BUS Station Module, In-BUS Module, BASE Station

Module and BUS Stop Module. Equipped with PC and GSM modem, BUS Station Module sends the

initialization information containing the bus number and license plate number to In-BUS Module and BASE

Station Module using SMS. The microcontroller based In-BUS Module consisting mainly of a GPS receiver and

GSM modem then starts transmitting its location and number of passengers to BASE Station Module. BASE

Station Module equipped with a microcontroller unit and GSM modems interfaced to PCs is designed to keep

track record of every bus, processes user request about a particular bus location out of BUS Station and updates

buses location on bus stops. BUS Stop Module is installed at every bus stop and consists of a GSM modem,

memory unit and dot matrix display all interfaced to a microcontroller. This module receives buses location

information coming towards that stop from BASE Station module and displays the information on a dot matrix

display. A per stop statistical analysis is carried out based on the number of passengers and a recommendation

report along with this analysis can be sent to a Government body to have a check on the performance and

services offered by transporters to common people

Design of on-line embedded web server is a challenging part of many embedded and real time data

acquisition and control system applications. The World Wide Web is a global system of interconnected

computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billion of users

worldwide and allows the user to interface many real time embedded applications like data acquisition,

Industrial automations and safety measures etc.It approached towards the design and development of on-

line Interactive Data Acquisition and Control System (IDACS) using ARM based embedded web server. It

can be a network, intelligent and digital distributed control system. Single chip IDACS method improves

the processing capability of a system and overcomes the problem of poor real time and reliability. This

system uses ARM7 Processor portability with Real Time operating system (RTOS) it makes the system

more real time and handling various processes based on multi tasking and reliable scheduling mechanisms.

Web server application is ported into an ARM processor using embedded `C' language. Web pages are

written by Hyper text markup language (HTML); it is beneficial for real time IDACS, Mission critical

Development of

Algorithm for Speed

Tracking of Vehicles based on

GPS

The main aim of this project is detect the vehicle speed with the help of GPS. The Advancement in the

communication technology, digital imaging, Mobile communication, position control and navigation monitoring

becomes a important criteria for new technological innovations. The Global Positioning System is a space based

radio positioning ,navigation and time transfer system which operates at all times of the day, under all weather

conditions and everywhere on or near earth. When an object capable of sending information periodically about

its longitude, latitude and altitude, position is expelled from a launcher and is made to hit a particular place, it

follows a curved path. Using the signal from satellite, The Global Positioning System receiver placed on the

lanced object calculates the position of the object in the terms of latitude and longitude and the transmitter will

transmit this information periodically. The receiver on the ground station collects this information up to 2/3 of

the path.1/3 of the path is not received due to the data link non_ availability. This Project outlays the

implementation of Global Positioning System by including a general interface circuit which can have connection

to most GPS vendors. The software is developed in such a way that there is no conflict between map of software

and its LLA .The software is compatible with all the GPS vendor hardware. General interface controller is built

using a 32 bit ARM7 based LPC2129 controller and the other circuitry, which have baud rate detection and

This project is based on VTU syllabus. The proposed system is based on microcontroller that is in our syllabus. For doing this project we use some of the software like Embedded C for programming the application software to the microcontroller.Express PCB software is used for designing the PCB for this project. (Since PCB making is a big process and involves lot of machineries, which are expensive, we are going to outsource this to the manufacturer.) Now days we can see nearly everything which was once controlled by human being are being automated using machines and electronics circuits. In this project we are mainly concentrating on controlling the remote systems. We are using GSM technology for controlling the different applications at remote distance. By calling to the remote system (Remote has got GSM modem with a SIM), after call success by pressing different digits which are available in the mobile phone keypad can control the different applications at remote side. Here after call success when we press the keypad digits called as DTMF digits (Dual Tone Multi Frequency) in mobile, the same pressed DTMF digits we are going to receive at application side and with this received DTMF digits can control the different application. This application can also be controlled by sending SMS or giving master ring

The advancement of Technology resulted in the revolution in each every activity of the economy. Life made easier than ever and ever………Automatic Meter Reading is one among the value added technology in the economy. Minimizing the resources and enhancing the result is major criteria of this technology. The AMR will monitor the meter (either Electrical Power /Water/Gas) and updates the usage of the units. This can be configured to monitor either by group or area wise. The reason for configuring this is to deliver the Bills on mass either by group or area wise. From Billing Centre, user can request the unit consumption either by group or area wise as per configuration. On receiving the consumption details, billing centre can process the data and generate the Bills for consumed units along with dues if any. This result gets reflected in the Liquid Crystal Display unit of the AMR and simultaneously SMS to the users Handsets as well as details bills to users e-mail id. On payment of bill, the system will maintain the relevant details at remote level to maintain the history of the end users unit consumptions. AMR can also configured to block the supply if the payment is not done on due date. Meantime, system can be configured to send warning messages during interval such as reminders, warning to cut off the supply etc

DIGITAL FUEL

INDICATOR

This project is based on VTU syllabus. The proposed system is based on 8051 µcontroller which is in our syllabus. For doing this project we use some of the software like > Embedded C for programming the application software to the micro controller. Protel schematic software is used for designing the circuit diagram for this project. Express PCB software is used for designing the PCB for this project. (Since PCB making is a big process and involves lot of machinery's which are expensive, we are going to outsource this to the manufacturer.) In the recent times we are constantly hearing about petrol bunk frauds. Most of the petrol bunks today have manipulated the pumps such that it displays the amount as entered but the quantity of fuel filled in the customer’s tank is much lesser than the displayed value. I.e the pumps are tampered for the benefit of the petrol bunks owner. This results in huge profits for the petrol bunks but at the same time the customers are cheated. All the vehicles in India consist of analog meters hence it is not possible to precisely know the amount of fuel currently in the vehicle and also it is not possible to cross check the quantity of fuel filled in the petrol bunk. This project focuses on creating a digital display of the exact amount of fuel contained in the vehicles tank and also helps in cross checking the quantity of fuel filled at the petrol bunk. Finally once the fuel is filled at a bunk the device also sends an sms to the vehicle owner indicating the amount, quantity, and date, time etc

Intrusion detection using face

recognition and gsm

This project deals with identification of a person using face recognition and GSM. The project “INTRUSION DECTION USING FACE RECOGNITION AND GSM” contains 8-bit microcontroller, alphanumeric LCD, PC, GSM, buzzer, and power supply. Basically RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology to communicate using radio frequency waves. Here RFID tag is connected to a person for the purpose of identification. The RFID reader consists of an antenna transmitting waves, when the RFID tag comes under this coverage it is detected. If the ID matches it’s informed to the microcontroller using UART. The microcontroller checks for subsequent details like name, password and mobile number. Than the GSM module sends the password to the respective person’s mobile number, that should be entered by the person using DTMF encoder. If it matched than the microcontroller goes for face recognition. Then the person needs to enter another password using DTMF encoder. If it’s matched than the detection is successful

Patient request to

nurse using flex sensor

In hospitals sometimes patient, he is not capable to go near patient and ask her requests or help. Such cases patient can send information to the nurse through wireless. Here ZigBee is used to send such information. This project is useful in such cases. The project “PATIENT RQUEST TO NURSE USING FLEX SENSOR” contains 8-bit microcontroller P89V51RD2, ZigBee, buzzer, flex sensor, DIP switch, ADC0809, relay, fan unit, bulb, 20x4 line alphanumeric LCD and seven segment display. We can bend flex sensors as we want. For each position it will give different values. Those values are given to the ADC. According to the received values we can assign different information to each position. Here DIP switch is used to select patient. For one flex sensor value patient can request to switch on fan, another to request to switch on bulb, one to send information to nurse. Here patient can request four options like water, health, food and help. On alphanumeric LCD all the information sent by patient will be displayed. If the first patient sends any request to the nurse then one will be displayed on the seven segments connected to the module, which is kept in nurse table. Like that it will continue. 8051 architecture based P89V51RD2 microcontroller from NxP is used to implement this project. Microcontroller acts as the heart of the project, which controls the whole system. It contains 1k RAM, 64k Flash, 3 Timers, 2 external interrupts, 1 UART, 32 GPIO’s, ISP programming support etc. KEIL IDE is used to program the microcontroller and the coding will be done using Embedded C

According to the status that most of Indoor Location’s can’t effectively monitor the temperature and humidity

around Food of fresh area in our country currently, the thesis designs a Hierarchical topology central monitoring

system based on ZigBee Wireless sensor network (WSN). Automatically monitored and controlled. The

monitoring nodes, with the CC2430 chip and THS11 can collect and upload temperature and humidity data to

The Management Centre, which displays and processes the Data, through the central node and the RS-232

interface. If the Collected data exceeds the threshold, it automatically starts the Alarm system and the regulating

system; while the data is lower than the standard value, regulating system could be automatically shut down.

Nodes work in the regular query power saving mode. Power is obtained from button cells conversion Through

MAX687.The results reveal that this WSN system has the potential for field applications due to its low cost, low

power and flexible networking construction

This paper proposes a new application framework for group tour guiding services based on RFIDs and wireless

sensor network. We consider a sensing field mixed with multiple independent tourist groups, each with a leader

and several members. Members of a group will follow the moving path of their leader, but may occasionally

roam around randomly based on their interest. Sensor nodes have to track leaders' locations and maintain

following paths from members to leaders. A member may ask where his/her leader is, and a leader may "recall"

his/her members. We propose a feasible solution to such an application by using existing technologies

Several researches determined that hyperthermia (heat stroke) is an underestimated risk which can lead to

serious injuries or even to death. In the U. S., between 1998 and 2009, 444 left behind children in cars died due

to hyperthermia. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration initiated a research which shows that

hyperthermia is the second leading cause of death for children in non-traffic fatalities in the U. S. (19.6 %); the

first one is backover (49.5 %). Most of these tragedies could be prevented by not leaving children unattended in

motor vehicles. Most of the car owners/drivers do underestimate how fast and high the temperature inside a

vehicle can increase on a normal summer day.In this project we our aim is to design a system that can identify a

unattended child in the vehicle and intimate the user about the same so that condition like hyperthermia can be

avoided

This project implements a bus detection mechanism for the blind in travelling from one place to another. In order

to get transportation independently, the blind use auditory touched clues like walking stick or white cane. The

limitation of the walking stick is that a blind person must come into close proximity with their surroundings to

determine the location of an obstacle; the project is aims to develop a bus detection prototype using Radio

Frequency Identification (RFID) for the blind. Through voice recording we can collect the information such as

bus route; final destination and bus number are also provided

Our conventional postal systems are inefficient, difficult to track and slow in service. This project provides a

solution for improving postal services enabling Secured Postal Data Communication with the help of RFID

technology which is one of the best proved wireless technologies. The main concept of this project is to keep

track of the post from the dispatch place until it reaches the designated person. When the courier/post is

transported from one location to other location, its current location will be updated to the recipient of the courier

with the help of GSM and GPS. The usual practice of sticking the stamps on the each postal cover will be

replaced by passive RFID tags.

This project is designed to automate the parking system, make the current parking system more user friendly and

easier to use. Here the user has to first reserve a parking slot for him/her by requesting for a parking slot through

SMS. After requesting for a slot the user is give an authentication password to be entered at the parking slot to

get access to the parking slot. The controller performs all the activities like reservation, gate operation, cost

calculation etc.. IR sensors are present at each gate to sense the presence of vehicle and aid the hardware to

perform appropriate actions. The communication medium between the user and the hardware module is the

GSM modem, by using which the user and the hardware module can communicate by using SMS (Short

Message Service) formats.
