IDMi Media PackA little bit of history . . . .

See how far we havecome since 1 969 ... .

. . . . now see where we are going

“201 4 was another big year for IDMi, fighting the

recession and being under new management at the

same time was not easy. We know our advertisers have

found it hard, so we have some exciting new deals for

them to take advantage of regardless of budget.

The website has had a further make-over, and is now in

l ine with the parent company branding, and in paral lel

to that, and in common with most other publishers, we

have implemented wider subscription options to

broaden the readership.

Running two workflows to produce two different

magazines for print and digital was always going to be

hard, and was worth a try. Now we have returned to the

single issue model, but with two editions. The initial

edition is the print one, and two months after that, a

multimedia version goes out by newsletter. This retains

the interest of subscribers who require fresh news,

again broadens the range of recipients as 98% of the

digital recipients do not get the print edition, and means

that advertisers get even more coverage for their

money.

The cost of printing and

postage continues to rise, and

to combat this we choose our

printers and our paper

careful ly, both to keep within

the postal price-breaks, and to

improve distribution in

geographical areas where we

most send the magazine to.

Subscriber numbers continue to rise which is against

the general tide, but also encouraging. IDMi believe it is

because we are primari ly B2B-focused and not B2C,

which must always be a hard sell to subscribers.

So there we are, al l set for a busy 201 5. Please let us

know if there is something you like, and definitely let us

know if there is something you do not l ike.” ■

IDMi EXPLAINED

IDMi has three main areas of business:

• Bi-monthly print edition magazine

• Digital magazine edition (with hold-back)

• Web site

(All carry advertising which can be mixed and

matched between the print and digital editions,

as well as combined with the web site.)

IDMI CONTENT AND SPECIAL FEATURES

• We continue to review our system of news-

feeds for the web site, and do try to fine-tune

them to bring you the most meaningful news

from the information management industry. We

also bring you news within the

magazine.

• Each issue contains the popular

IDMi Guides. The guides cover

scanners to A3, microfi lm

scanners and microfi lm writers,

and we wil l introduce the long-

overdue IDMi Large Format

Scanner Guide during 201 5.

• We continue to bring you

articles based on our own

research and submitted by

outside sources. We wil l continue

to publish case studies, white

papers and opinion pieces.

• Equipment and software reviews are often

difficult to engineer if the equipment is big, or if

the software is server or cloud-based, the

introduction of the concept of Paiditorial (part

ad part editorial) wil l al low us to expand on that

in 201 5. The intention is as always to keep the

coverage broad.

• Diary date pages have seen a paradigm-shift

in content, as many regular shows drop away

and the new concept of pop-up exhibitions

provides focussed one-off events.

IDMi GUIDES

Recently re-engineered to provide better

clarity, and now with the option of banner

advertising, the IDMi Guides continue to

expand. Uncluttered and easy to read, they

provide consistent and impartial factual

information, and remain the property of IDMi.

They do need edited for typos and require to

be continuously reviewed and edited for

accuracy. This can only happen if regular

updates are received from OEMs, importer,

and key reseller organisations. The Guides

form a valuable source of technical data not

only readers, but also for sales, marketing and

project personnel, who can compare

equipment l isted in one convenient location.

The IDMi Guides cover:

• Document Scanners

• Microfi lm Scanners

• Microfi lm Writers (Mono and Colour)

• Large Format Scanners (due during 201 5)

If you would l ike have your

company products l isted in the

Guides, please send an email for

an Excel template to fi l l in the

necessary data to:

idmiguides@idmionl ine.com

We are working towards

providing a searchable online

version of the guides and hope

this also wil l be available in

201 5.

DIGITAL MAGAZINE KEY FACTS

eIDMi is the digital version of the print magazine. Previously, IDMi ran this as a separate

magazine with entirely different content. During the course of 201 3 research revealed that the

digital magazine was going to an entirely different set of recipients. IDMi have now streamlined

the editorial and production processes to combine the two issues as one. The digital edition is

sti l l cal led eIDMi and is passed on to the digital readership two months after the print editions is

published. (Subscribers with a specific requirement can have access to the digital edition shortly

after the print issue is released.) Circulation of eIDMi is provided via a URL sent out via email .

• eIDMi is distributed worldwide and now goes out to over 1 8,000 recipients

• The digital edition al lows IDMi to reach a different readership, sti l l within the IM industry, and

provides a high-volume method of distribution without the high overhead of print and distribution

costs.

• This distribution method is reflected in the value provided by the eIDMi ad rate card

• Advertisers in eIDMi have interactive functions added to the digital edition, al lowing readers to

l ink to their web sites

• I f IDMi are partnering with a trade show or other such event, special promotional/sponsored

issues of elDMi are possible (e.g. 4x page cover-wraparound)
