Aqua Strategy 2020 – Sourcing Guidelines
• Development and adoption of sourcing guidelines including – Certification schemes – Improvement projects
• Support & further development of a global, multi-stakeholder platform (GSSI, see www.ourgssi.org) focusing on – Strategic agenda setting – Non-competitive issues – Collaborative learning – Reporting & monitoring
⇒ Impact: Reduced occurrence of adverse environmental and social aquaculture and fisheries practices
Aqua Strategy 2020 – Health Management
• Develop business model for improved on-farm animal health management
• Define ‘what’ -> develop responsible animal health management best practices as key building block for improvement projects
• Define ‘how’ -> field test conceptual best practice models for responsible animal health management as a means to mitigate cumulative impacts (e.g. zonal approach)
• Focus countries are Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Ecuador
⇒ Impact: Reduced on-farm fish mortality
Aqua Strategy 2020 – Feed Management
• Development a business model for improved feed management
• Define ‘what’ -> develop responsible on-farm feed management best practices and feed composition as key building block for improvement projects
• Define ‘how’ -> field test conceptual best practice models for responsible on-farm feed management and responsible feed ingredient sourcing
• Focus countries are Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Ecuador
⇒ Impact: Reduced feed conversion efficiency and increase aquatic feed sustainability
