• You will create a slab-constructed lidded box that tells us about you.

• On the outside, you will have imagery that people generally know about you

• On the inside, you will include images about you that may be surprising or that most people don’t know

about you. • You should have at least 2 completed images on the

inside and 3 on the outside• The box itself can be an image or item as well and

counts toward your 3 image minimum on outside

• When using slabs, you will roll out even, flat slabs of clay.

• Slabs should be around ½” thick – thinner will not be sturdy and thicker will be too heavy and clunky

• After you’ve cut out your slabs, you will need to wait a little bit for them to dry. This way, they will not

collapse when you put them together.• Lids should follow the same rule – wait until they are

a little more dry to fit them on top of the box.• All lids should have a foot (a little ring that goes

around the edge to keep the lid from sliding off).

EXAMPLES OF LIDDED BOXES

All imagery should be applied and raised, not drawn into the clay – though some decoration can be carved
