On 12 March reforms to the Federal Government’s privacy legislation came into effect.
New privacy laws are now in effect.
The penalties and risks that businesses may be liable: The Federal Government is making
organisations more accountable for protecting data, with the power to impose fines of up to $340,000 for individuals and $1.7 million for companies that fail to take reasonable steps.
