What is an ident? An ident is used before the beginning of a film/television show, the reason for this is to show the audience the company involved in the production of the film. It is a short sequence shown before the film, which usually ends in showing the logo of the production company. It is what the audience uses to identify the production company, for example we know the company by the sequence, like if we see the Earth, we know it will be Universal Studios, or if we hear the 20th Century Fox theme tune we know it is them.

The Visit - Universal Studios The Visit is similar to

our film idea, because it starts out as normal film and then we see many strange occurrences happen within a normal family. as what happens to Luke and his sister in our film Deceit.

The trailer shows that The Visit was produced by Universal Studios, from 0.05 and lasts for 4 seconds before the trailer starts. As Universal Studios is one of the Big Six production companies, it means that on top of the film's $5 million budget, it was very well promoted and distributed, through the many contacts that Universal have.

Insidious - FilmdistrictInsidious like The Visit is also very similar to our teaser idea, as it also starts with a normal family living a normal life, and then all of a sudden everything changed, when strange occurrences take place, and their lives are at risk.

However unlike The Visit, the film Insidious was produced by a much more less well know production company, as seen at 0.04, on the screen for only 2 seconds. We can see it was produced by FilmDistrict, an independent company that specialises in acquisitions, distribution and production. Insidious was the first film produced by FlmDistrict, and so would not have had as big a budget, at ⅕ of a budget of The Visit, and they wouldn't have had as many contacts as Universal.
