Facebook is a social networking tool that connects people. One you create your account, you can setup your personal profile, which include the ability to add information about your life, pictures, videos and much

more. You then can join networks organized by cities, schools or regions as

well as personally select people to be your friend. Facebook-friends are being notified if you update your status.

The question is: do students want their social and educational spaces connected, although Facebook provides teachers great ways to connect

with other professionals in their field.

REGISTRATION-PROCEDURE 1/6

STEP 1: Go to www.Facebook.com, fill in the form and click on "Sign

Up".

STEP 2: Type the words you see in the picture into the textbox and click

"Sign Up"

STEP 3: Facebook will give you some suggestions of people you may

know already. (I'll skip this)

STEP 4: Next facebook will allow you to find friends you already have on

other systems like MSN or Gmail by entering you email address and

password. (I'll skip this too)

STEP 5: Now you can add where you go to school or your employer, you

can change this later on. (I'll be skipping this too)

STEP 6: Next you can upload a picture of yourself or take a picture with

your webcam, you can always change this later on. (I'm going to skip this

too)

STEP 7: Ok! Now we got our account set-up, but we must verify our

email address by clicking "Go to your email".

STEP 8: Now find the email that looks like this and open it.

STEP 9: Ok...now you see a green button that says "Complete Sign-up",

click it.

STEP 10: You will see a small screen saying your email has been

comfirmed.

STEP 11: Finally our account has been fully set-up :) , now we are going

to make our first post - but to do that we need to go to our news-feed

wich you can find on the left side of your screen below "Welcome".

STEP 12: Now you see a textbox asking you "What's on your mind?" -

you can write your first post there. Click share to publish your post.

STEP 13: We have made our first post! Congratulations with your new

Facebook account !

STEP 4: U will see this screen

STEP 5: Click on Upload a Photo

STEP 6: Click on "Choose file"

STEP 7: Ok so now we got an upload screen - find your picture and

double click it

Step 8: You will see that it has selected & uploaded the picture - click on

share

STEP 4: You now see a preview of the link - you can select other

thumbnails by using the arrows, click share to post your message

the bottom left of the post

STEP 5: We now made our first comment to a post !

STEP 1: On the top right of your screen u will see a few tabs - one of

them is "Account", click on that one

STEP 2: You will see this screen

STEP 3: Click on "Privacy Settings"

STEP 4: Now you see this screen

STEP 5: On the left you have a selection of different options

STEP 6: Click on "Friends Only" and on the bottom right click "Apply

these Settings"

STEP 7: We now changed our settings to only allow friends to see our

profile and all other data available

STEP 1: On the left side of your screen you will see a selection of

options - click on "Photos"

STEP 2: You now see a screen saying no one has uploaded any photos,

click on Add Photos

STEP 3: You will now see this screen for Album Creation

STEP 4: Add a name & location(not needed) for your album and click

"Create Album"

STEP 5: You now see this screen here asking you to select photos -

click on "Select Photos"

STEP 6: Select one or more photos by clicking them whilst holding the

ctrl key and click on "Open"

STEP 7: Click on "Upload Photos"

STEP 8: At this moment Facebook is uploading your pictures to their

storage server - this can take a while if you have selected a lot of

pictures

STEP 9: Now you can tag persons - but since I only uploaded pictures of

the nature I'll be skipping this

STEP 10: We now created a Photo Album !

SHORT MANUAL : CREATING A FACEBOOK GROUP 1/4

STEP 1: On the left side of your screen you see a selection of different

options - click "Groups"

STEP 2: You will now see a screen saying you have no groups - click on

"+Create Group"

STEP 3: Enter a group name and members you would like to invite

already(I'm going to leave this blank)

STEP 4: Ok so you've entered a group name - now click on "Create"

STEP 5: We've made our group - now going to select a picture - click on

"Set-Up Group" above the group name

STEP 6: Click on "Choose file"

STEP 7: Select a picture and click on "Open"

STEP 8: Now we've uploaded a picture and this is now the default

picture for the group we just created

STEP 9: Congratulations with your new group page !
