Minor Project – worth40% of AS grade
• Either using Excel or Access 2000
• A solution to a real problem e.g. stock control system, mail order system
Theory – worth 60%of AS Grade
• Communications and the Internet
• Effects of IT on society
• Types of hardware and software
• User Interfaces

How do I get on the course?
• GCSE ICT is an advantage – we expect Grade C or higher
• You can still do A Level even if you have not studied GCSE – so long as you can show you have reached a level of skill on a computer from your work in other subjects
