ICSV Fall Sports Season Wrap-upNearly half of the students in Middle and High School participated in the Fall Sports Season. We had nearly 80 athletes this year! As the Athletic Director I am excited that so many students are enjoying sports and experiencing working together as a team. Below is a short write-up from each coach about the Fall Sports.
Lisa Schra, ICSV Athletic Director
ICSV Middle School Soccer Blue Team – Coach Sims
The Blue Team’s record for the 2013 soccer season was 2-4-2. We had a slow start to the season, but turned out some positive results as the season progressed. The Blue team took part in two tournaments this year and showed their competitiveness in both of the tournaments. As coach it was great to see the positive and encouraging attitudes of the players on the pitch.
ICSV Middle School SoccerGold Team – Coach Kornelis
The Gold team had 2 wins and three losses. They were an integrated and resilient team. Even in their bad beats they encouraged each other and held their head's high. They improved in their individual skills and their sense of teamwork. Yet most noteworthy was their Christian character and sportsmanship on the
field.

This past JV Football season was a time of learning and a lot of fun. With a new coach and lots of freshmen joining, the team came into the season with very little experience playing together. That quickly changed as we jumped right into the season. All of a sudden, the guys were getting a lot of playing time
and by the middle of the season, we could hold our own. It was a great experience for everybody and we look ahead to more seasons together and more growth. Some highlights of the season were the AISB Tournament and tons of close games.
ICSV High School SoccerVarsity TeamCoach Kolamkanny
This season had many ups and downs, from losing four starters at the beginning of the season through injury, to beating AIS V for the first time in 6 years, it definitely was a season full of mixed emotions and results. Even though results did not go the way it was hoped, the players learned a lot about themselves and how to
win games. They showed this in the tournament, coming from behind to win a crucial game. Many positives can be taken from this season, and a strong united team has been established, which can definitely win many games and challenge for the DVAC Tournament Trophy next year.

The JV team was a new team this year. Some of the girls were new to the school and to the game. They had a great energy, worked hard and were determined to become the best team they could be. They played very well together and were always encouraging. This team honored Christ in all that they did and I am proud of them.

Varsity Team Coach Johnson & Coach EislerRecord: 9-4
The Varsity team had a successful season this year. The majority of the team are seniors and they have been playing for 3 years together. They were unified, hard-working, determined and competitive. Most importantly, they played for their school, their team and Jesus Christ. I am very proud of the Varsity team and the seniors will be missed.
